#meshtastic Was using #tbeam as mobile device without decent case and found the antenna would go iffy at the connector so moved to using the #techo . Seems to be much more agreeable to carry around because it has a compact case. OK... it is a bit unwieldy with a souped-up aerial... After a brief, no not full, charge of the T-bat battery from mains and returning it to the T-bat, at 06:00 CET the T-beam is showing 17% and the T-bat has no lights on. (Has green light on when providing usb 5 V power out)

Am I the only one who has made tons and tons of #filters to make the home and public time-line contain only things that are likely to be of interest? The effect is amazing! I was half wanting to stop using social media due to overload but #filters on #Mastodon are truly amazing tools. 🚨 some terms block stuff you want to see e.g. EU is in lots of web addresses that appear in posts that you do not want to have hidden as they are not about the EU... 😆

#xperia5v after 6 months: gets hot when filming and camera shoot button does not react fast which is really bad. The automatic lighting adjustment is really slow. Impossible to take shots of things where there is a bright sky as well as darker foreground e.g. sky or electronics with LEDs on. The GUI plays up more and more - nothing crashes really but shows signs of iffy software GUI design e.g. screen goes snowy. Would not buy again if that stays like that in new versions.

A fork of the packages database / sources would cause chaos, right? Is it not a particularly un-forkable OS ? (1) establish a good set of standard nixOS configurations configuration.nix
(2) test each of them on new #hardware that comes out

Surely nixOS is a perfect tool for testing hardware #drivers and so on.

@npub1wst…ez75 Given how important email is, I am always amazed how poor the GUIs are and bad the functionalities. The setup of proton mail with thunderbird on Ubuntu was doable but scary in a fun sort of way with the bridge thingy. Is it because there is no money in it? Seems a big gap in FOSS to me.
