Whelp, after working on greenhouse design pretty much non stop for I don't even know how many days anymore, I think I need to build only a third to start. Even then I'll probably spend 300k to make it nice nice nice and be over budget 50k. 14,000 Sq ft with 3000 of it being basically a dirt floor open front building for saw mill, firewood and parking stuff out of the rain.

Just made final jeeb payment. Now just need to make $100 a day selling bred and veggies to be break even. Should be possible, just will need to sell like 6 loaves of bred and $60 of veggies to do that and pay for gas. Now that temps are cooler I'll get my mushroom tent going too and maybe harvest some honey. Hoping I make like 3x the break even amount, then I will just have to sell shit like 3 days a week to be moving forward again. Might try to just do it every day tho for the next couple months while veggie production going good. At least I can chill on my porch in the mornings while baking shit for 5 hours. Can wake up at 10 and bake till 3 and then sell from 4 till wheneves. Nice that is legal for me to just park on main street and hock my stuff. And have starlink on my jeeb so I can just watch youtube or work on CAD(minecraft) while selling stuffs.

replanted the holes in my vineyard with some frontenac grapes I had propagated this winter. hopefully they live planting at the start of this heat wave. Got the drip line up and running again at least. Put some thomcord seedless along my front porch as well.... probably a huge mistake.

@nprofile…ujhs the allergies are actually not as bad as normal for the cedars, I'd have a full out sinus infection by now if I wasn't keeping on top of it. And last summer the linden trees and tomatoes didn't affect me much at all and they used to be the worst. Might be a combination of carnivore diet as well helping. I've been lax on it the past couple months and do a couple days on and a couple days off over and over. So maybe that's why the cedar trees are getting me still. Never tried a nasal spray before... hmmmm.

@nprofile…ujhs It's allergies, the red cedar trees are trying to kill me. It's weird tho but smoke does make the running stop. I thought it was the nicotine but apparently I figured out today pretty much any smoke calms my sinuses down.

2026-03-24 15:07:30 GMT

Took 4 wormwood leaves to stop my nose from drip drip drip. Think I'm gonna harvest a bunch of different smokeable plants and try to eliminate daily tobacco. Hopefully mint smoke works too, that looks to be super safe and I have a ton of invasive spearmint and peppermint. Have Ginkgo and wild lettuce too.

Might be cheaper keeping the hydrogen in a very large air bag and pumping it to the burners instead. large tanks and pumps would be expensive and kind of a waste of energy compressing it to save storage space. I have pretty much unlimited 30mil polyethylene sheeting I could make bags out of. Just need a very simple building to hold the blimp down. Not sure if worth storing oxygen that way tho. I'm way more scared of pure oxygen gas to where I might just vent it off. I probably should forget about this idea for now and just use a wood hydronics for the next couple years and worry about the hydrogen system if I ever build an acre greenhouse.

2026-01-31 18:09:17 GMT

I'm just short like 20k this year from my income/expense projections.... need to figure out something for money that is not getting a real job. Everything is like a 2 year minimum payback on investment tho. Probably should just dedicate the next three months to designing eurorack synth modules every spare second if I was smart. Initial investment for each module would probably be like 2k after I order components, faceplate boards, circuit boards and packaging. Not to bad really, but even that is likely a 2-3 year payback on initial investment and then I'm likely an additional 20k short on money this year. Please don't make me get a job.

@nprofile…ujhs Yeah, I'm considering making a second board with large relays on it and having this current board feed that. I guess I'll know more once I ohm out all my coils. If it's just the choke and throttle coils that are power hungry I might still roll with this board. Kinda sucks tho because that just adds complexity. Also my current board is absolutely crammed, I had to remove a few features to get it all to fit. Another Idea is I might pull the engine control section out of this board and put it in a separate enclosure in the engine compartment. At least I figured this out before I spent $400 on boards and relays.

2026-01-21 21:46:54 GMT

Have my scissor lift control board all designed and I think I need to scrap the whole design and start over. There goes 3 days of work doing the layout, traces and labeling. Need to use much larger relays and the traces have to be super wide because amperages are preddy yuge for some of the coils it needs to control. Think I'm gonna do 200mil wide traces everwhere I can and not put solder mask over them so I can solder over the top of the entire trace to allow them to carry 20-30 amps. Guess I better take an ohm meter to the hydraulic valve coils and verify how much they pull first tho. The two coils I'm worried about now are the throttle and choke solenoid, they pull a shit ton on activation, but once they bottom out they pull very little for hold in current. I think since I have diodes everywhere to prevent arcing on contacts I could probably get away with these 8 amp relays, but they will probably fail pretty quickly still.
