I have a distinct memory of a commercial for a store called Pokémart or Poke-e-Mart. It was a store that just sold Pokémon merchandise. This was an IRL store, not the stores in the video games.
I remember watching the commercial in the late 1990s, at the peak of the Pokémon mania in the US. I only saw the commercial once.

I would like to again recognize two women who have had a big influence on my work:
When I was first planning out Nantucket E-Books, I was learning more about the free software movement. It was a blog post from Christine Lemmer-Webber, https://dustycloud.org/blog/why-i-am-pro-gpl/, that convinced me to make Nantucket E-Books a free-software project.
Leah Rowe's work on Libreboot has been a big motivator for me. She's developing free-software at the deepest level, while I plod along with JavaScript.

The #harlan_ellison directory is 100% HTML. In hindsight, I might have written it in Shanty and made it an ever-evolving Nantucket E-Book. As it is, it's text-based, pretty future-proof, and I find it quite manageable to edit in Vim.
I like to think of it as the kind of web project you'd find in the early days of the internet. It's intended to be more personal (and reliable) than Wikipedia when it comes to info about Harlan Ellison's works.

The question I'm coming up against is: do I count the introductions Ellison wrote for each short story as a separate work? I would be inclined to say no, but in Dangerous Visions, the introductions are almost full essays in their own right.

Harlan Ellison gives one of the greatest non-answers of all time in this episode of his commentary series. At the time, Chistopher Priest had published The Last Deadloss Visions, about Ellison's failure to deliver a third volume of his Dangerous Visions series. Ellison had been claiming for decades that it was almost ready for print.

I haven't written too much about my presentation script. I write my slideshow presentations in my Shanty markup language, and I've written a free-software script that converts them into slides.
I've written a short lecture, and this morning I was able to convert it into a presentation in ten minutes. It's all plain-text, and it's on my server, so I don't have to mess with thumb drives and format compatibility.
It's very bare-bones, but for most presentations I find it's convenient.
