PS: the fact that I'm here focussing my energy on the latter does not mean that I don't also focus my energy on the former in lots of other situations.
I would hope that's obvious but I'm afraid it isn't. This kind of black and white thinking is exactly what I'm trying to criticise.

I don't think discussing the term ethnic cleansing will make us understand each other better, so let's leave that point.
Why am I focussing my energy on this discussion?
I am extremely worried about the culture of our discourse and about the growing divide between people.
I am also worried about nazis and bigots, and I do believe that calling someone a nazi, in most cases, makes the problem of bigotry as well as the divide worse, and not better.

I bet you can comfortably call him a nazi. And I'm almost inclined to agree after reading the post you talk abput.
But that's part of the problem: it's rewarding to target someone that way. It's the easy way out of expressing anger about someone with a lot of reach expressing reactionary, rude, bigotted ideas.
It's easy, because it's powerful and becaus it's simple. Write or wrong. Nazi or not. Here is some food for thought.

I'm all for accurate description.
It's been some days since I've read the article but I don-t think DHH has called for actual ethnic cleansing. Which is the direct, violent deportation fo a specific ethnic or religous group.
I'm pretty sure DHH is very naive and ignorant of a lot of things. That's no excuse ever for anything. But it could be a better explanation than "he is a nazi".

I'm not sure it's wise to label DHH as a nazi. The problem I see is that I believe people can be pushed towards extremism by doing this.
And we can make mistakes when using such labels.
I agree that there is a paradox of tolerance that we have to deal with somehow. But I'd rather err on the side of labelling, condemning and fighting ideas and actions than people themselves.
