A couple of years ago I did this for a work thing. My advice? Don't do it.

I am not the opinionated cnut I was 20 years ago about beer and I can generally enjoy most beers these days (except Carling and some badly brewed kettle sours).
But a lot of beer tastes the same. Food isn't like that. Would you call someone a food snob for not wanting your lovingly prepared devilled kidneys because they don't like Offal?
This isn't a go, I'm actually interested.

I agree in general.
One of the problems with being trained in beer tasting is that there's now some flavours I can't stand. Excessive DMS is one (tastes like drinking sweetcorn juice) and Butyric acid (tastes and smells like baby sick) is another. I'd rather stick to water. Fair enough if other people don't pick it up and like drinking it though.
It did get me thinking - would you go round for a mate's film night if all the food on offer was just tripe and onions?

Edit: But if people enjoy it then that's fine. Despite being an ex-brewer, knowing far too much about beer and liking weird and esoteric stuff I'm still quite partial to a bog standard Heineken.

My Mum used to work in the typing pool at an unnamed Police service. I used to get given cassette tapes from interviews after they'd been typed up - to reuse for music or whatever. They hadn't been wiped.
Some of that stuff was harrowing. This was around the time the authorities started taking child abuse, both current and historical, quite seriously.
I knew a few people in some of the interviews I listened to.

I came across a dead rat lying on the road on the walk from the workplace to the bus stop.
