How are we checking these lists in a meaningful way? I'm sure I'll just ask AI to "protect my domain, make no mistakes"

How are we all handling this Certificate thing? Anyone have an easy way to check the certificate issuance transparency lists? (Without downloading gigs of text files?)
TLDs for .gh .as and .sl are effected. Google says they aren't sure what certs are good or bad or which the bad guys minted...

Nope, this is just a one way key exchange. Signal me? I'll send you my TC address. You can just connect. Its not even a symmetrical key exchange. Its just literally run Tailcat on the victim machine, give the key to the attacker, the attacker runs `tailcat tcaddress` and is connected

2026-09-04 13:41:42 GMT

- reply

that key is the only piece of information exchange required for me to connect to your host. Its like taping my house key to my front door.

correct and grab these keys, do a banner grab and write up a neat blog post saying hey don't do this look what we found

2026-09-03 21:52:39 GMT

- reply

that's my reading of it. Put the key there and anyone can use it as txt tailcat="tc address"
The tailcat help module says that any tailcat command given a url will resolve the dns, extract the address and continue on as if the tc address had been given natively

2026-09-03 21:11:29 GMT

- reply

all of it. Tailscale is telling people to put this key into their DNS records. For security through obscurity? I wanna find em and write it up just as a for funsies, before the threat Actors do.

[@Viss](https://mastodon.social/@Viss ) @npub1ph0…dtxv [@da_667](https://infosec.exchange/@da_667 ) Any thoughts on how you'd mass-find DNS txt records that fit a certain format?

2026-09-03 17:59:24 GMT

Anyone have access to ICANN's Central Zone Data Service to assist with this? Tried to use shodan, but doesn't look like its collecting DNS data the way I expected. You'd think security by obscurity wouldn't be a thing here.
Or if anyone has access to ProjectSonar forward DNS file? And could do a quick search for me.

I printed out #TailCat s man/help page because I wasn't sure I was believing what I was seeing. This is an extremely useful tool, that runs in user space, can host an ingress point to the entire network that negotiates around firewalls, can host an authentication-less SSH session, and users are encouraged to place the key to this in their public DNS txt records.
What's stopping me from just scraping the web for txt records that are tailcat= ? Nothing. And I'm gonna do it.

Maintainer went off deepend and is like, I'm not playing politics with you all or succumbing to your demands!

its only the datahoarders who will have knowledge. I've been thinking about this for years. How much data is on unrecoverable raid arrays in virtual storage pools? We can dig up scrolls and papyri because they're single copies and unencrypted. Imagine archeology on a 1200 page codex that had been encrypted and broke into 1200 individual sheets. Even if enough survived itd be a nightmare. Now imagine a 1TB raided virtual disk array. Madness.

I assume that the end of this #AI stuff is just going to be the collapse of our current civilization. The number of #books we're destroying means there won't be a trusted path to re-build the store of human knowledge pre-2022, and the death and conflicts that happen in between will be #extinction level. The copies of the books that do exist, on Z-Lib and other places will be lost when the #datacenters go dark. And the few #datahoarders that be oracle's in the new world.

I appreciate that #OpenAI wants to make its employees loyal millionaires. But I want to ask a really serious question.
What kind of hell is OpenAI planning to unleash on the earth in the next 24mos that it requires a "carrot" worth hundreds of millions of dollars to keep employees from leaving?

Doing some interesting #memoryforensics on @npub1rkw…5q62 tonight. Still would trust them with my life, and the lives of my friends, but interesting stuff in the memory.
For instance, people I haven't talked to in 3 years showed up in the memory dump with a field called "SharedGroupNames" that listed every group that both I and that individual were associated with.
Also, the "LastMessage" field was often populated with a plaintext version of the last thing the individual had messaged me.

This is insane. Apparently the last few models of #iPhone have come with satellite emergency assistance features. Working everywhere below 62° latitude (won't work in the arctic circle).
So if you or someone you know is needing emergency services right now and have no cell signal. Swipe down from the right, choose Connection Center, and the cellular icon. You can get a satellite connection in minutes.

I can't put mitigations in place, or start patching, but we can brace ourselves and partners for the oncoming Storm.

Who is paying attention to #EvilSocket on X and wheres the conversation happening? I'd like to follow whoever's mastodon is talking about it.
If no one is, then there is a #Linux unauth #RCE being disclosed to openwall on the 30th.
Appears to affect Linux and #BSD with a 9.9 CVSS score.
From reading X thread seems to be not kernel or user space. Assuming protocol implementation?
