in this house and in your closet we obey the laws of thermodynamics! This is why it’s in the basement as any other place is subject to HVAC and other environs. Beyond that “quiet” is subjective. As a teenager I ran a multi fan full tower dual oc’d Celeron computer and slept in the cold cathode glow. Now I know the value of multi room. Bedroom has a projector and Apple TV and a receiver. Living room and den has a tv and the Apple TV and another receiver. Silence is achieved that way. Otherwise a closet is too cramped. I know that from bad work setups I’ve encountered. Heat has to go somewhere or it just gets worse and louder.

the trick is not putting it where you want it to be quiet. Find another room otherwise you’re going to run too hot, especially with the gpus. I use a dell r720xd with fans tuned. And even that is going away since it’s an easy 200w+ eating at your bill.

system ran stable doing nothing all weekend long but died within 30m of plugging it into the dock on Monday. So yeah 6.11 has left a lot to be desired in stability when digging through forums, yours and others. Thank you again for the feedback and assist

fw13 amd, Dell UltraSharp U2723QE, working fine for over a year on win11, but now migrating this to Ubuntu. Cable plugged into rear right usbc, manufacturer cable. To note, bios 3.07 got dropped on this due to Ubuntu prompting. I’ll tinker with kernel adjustments first and then consider fedora. I’d rather stick with Debian based as I’ve used those distros for 30 years at this point.

correct. I’ve been looking into changing to mainline but of course will need to deal with signing that kernel instead. It’s excessive because I’ve docked it (correctly) to a 4K monitor and run a streaming RDP that was making it cry. This has zero issues in win11. Thank you for the feedback and suggestions!
