The increase is from $2bn to "at least" $4bn per operation, starting September 9, running through November 4. Reuters called the amount "negligible in a market worth $32.2 trillion." Axios: purchases are "tiny relative to the roughly $30 trillion U.S. government debt market... the purchases alone will not determine where long-term interest rates go. The symbolism is what matters."

Oracle (ORCL) is trading higher today, February 25, 2026, following a major analyst upgrade and easing concerns regarding its massive capital investment strategy. The stock rose roughly 4% in today's session after Oppenheimer upgraded the shares to Outperform from Perform, citing a favorable risk-reward profile after a significant multi-month selloff. Oracle is raising $45 billion to $50 billion in 2026 through debt and equity to fund a historic buildout of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The company's growth is heavily tied to major AI contracts with OpenAI, Meta, NVIDIA, and TikTok. Easing concerns about OpenAI’s funding stability has improved investor sentiment. Analysts project Oracle’s EPS could double or triple by fiscal 2030 as massive capital expenditures begin to monetize, though short-term free cash flow remains under pressure. PT $286

for my future self on how to solve problems :
1. identify the problem
2. break it down into basic elements, the most fundamental facts or truths that cannot be reduced further
3. challenge assumptions : question everything about the problem
4. rebuild from scratch, use first principles to construct a new solution / free from preconceived notions

relationship questions :
1 - If someone told you, you were a lot like your partner would this be a compliment?
2 - Are you truly fulfilled or just less lonely?
3 - Are you able to be unapologetically yourself, or do you feel the need to show up differently to please your partner?
4 - Are you in love with your partner as a whole, or are you only in love with their good side, their potential or your idea of them?
5 - Would you want your own child to date someone like them?

jpow on today fomc: stagflation

2025-06-02 15:54:31 GMT

You’re not as special as you think. Most people are average, and that includes you. The world doesn’t revolve around you, and expecting otherwise leads to entitlement and disappointment. Success comes from hard work and luck, not inherent uniqueness.
Time is your most finite resource. Every second you waste is gone forever. You’ll never get back the hours spent procrastinating or chasing meaningless distractions. People often realize this too late—when health fails or loved ones are gone.
Life is inherently unfair. Good people suffer, and bad people often win. Hard work doesn’t always pay off, and talent can go unnoticed. Systems favor the privileged, and random chance plays a bigger role than most admit. You can do everything right and still lose.
Everyone you love will die, and so will you. Mortality is non-negotiable. You can’t escape it, and neither can anyone else. The longer you live, the more loss you’ll experience, and one day, you’ll be the one leaving others behind.
Happiness is fleeting, not a default state. You’re not entitled to constant joy. Life is a mix of highs and lows, and chasing endless happiness leads to frustration. Contentment comes from accepting this ebb and flow, not from external achievements or possessions.
Most people don’t care about you. Beyond a small circle of family and friends, the world is indifferent to your struggles or successes. People are too busy with their own lives to prioritize yours, and expecting otherwise sets you up for loneliness.
You’re responsible for your own problems. While circumstances can be tough, blaming others—parents, society, or luck—keeps you stuck. You have to take ownership of your choices and their consequences, even when it’s painful to do so.
Relationships require constant effort. Love, friendship, and family ties don’t survive on autopilot. Neglect them, and they’ll fade. People change, and so do their needs—staying connected means adapting, compromising, and showing up consistently.
You’ll never have all the answers. Life is chaotic and unpredictable. No matter how much you plan or learn, uncertainty will always be there. The need for control can paralyze you; sometimes, you just have to act without knowing the outcome.
Your health will decline, and you’ll regret not caring sooner. You can’t outrun aging. Poor habits—bad diet, no exercise, stress—catch up. By the time you notice the damage, it’s often harder to fix. Prioritizing health now is easier than fixing it later.
Money matters more than you’d like to admit. It doesn’t buy happiness, but it buys security, freedom, and options. Poverty is a trap that limits your choices and amplifies stress. Ignoring financial reality can lead to a life of struggle.
You’ll disappoint people, and they’ll disappoint you. No one’s perfect, including you. You’ll let down those you care about, and they’ll do the same. Holding onto grudges or guilt over this wastes emotional energy—forgiveness is often the only way forward.
Society rewards conformity, not authenticity. Being true to yourself can make you an outcast. People fear what’s different, and systems are built to enforce norms. Standing out often comes with rejection, criticism, or isolation.
Your dreams might never come true. Not every goal is achievable, no matter how hard you try. Timing, luck, and circumstances play a role. Clinging to unrealistic dreams can stop you from finding fulfillment in what’s actually possible.
You’re more selfish than you realize. Self-preservation is hardwired into humans. Even your kindest acts often have an underlying motive—validation, reciprocity, or feeling good about yourself. Pure altruism is rare, and that’s okay.
Comfort kills ambition quietly over time. Stay comfortable long enough, and you'll forget who you were becoming.
pain of discipline > pain of regret

“You see, at first, when someone says, 'Let’s impose tariffs on foreign imports,' it looks like they’re doing the patriotic thing by protecting American products and jobs. And sometimes for a short while it works – but only for a short time. What eventually occurs is: First, homegrown industries start relying on government protection in the form of high tariffs. They stop competing and stop making the innovative management and technological changes they need to succeed in world markets. And then, while all this is going on, something even worse occurs. High tariffs inevitably lead to retaliation by foreign countries and the triggering of fierce trade wars. The result is more and more tariffs, higher and higher trade barriers, and less and less competition. So, soon, because of the prices made artificially high by tariffs that subsidize inefficiency and poor management, people stop buying. Then the worst happens: Markets shrink and collapse; businesses and industries shut down; and millions of people lose their jobs.”

from @jam_croissant :
If you didn’t already understand the current White House’s approach from their budget, Bessent is telling you 🔊 loud & clear, if you care to listen👂.
This is what he is saying in plain English:
- They want to slow demand in the real economy & hence slow inflation, by distributing less 💰 to people, via slowing wage growth and less social services to American’s in the median income on down?
How?
A/ Cut Government Employment
B/ Cut Medicare
C/ Cut Snap Food assistance and School Lunches
D/ Cut Low income Housing Assistance
Then, as these cuts take hold in the next 3-6 months…
- Meanwhile, they plan to in Equal amounts Increase supply side stimulus to get ‘private Industry moving,’ this will send money to the top 0.1% of the top wage earners. Not increasing inflation, while stimulating economic growth.
How?
A/ Massive Corporate Tax Cuts
B/ Gut the IRS and corporate financial oversight to reduce taxes further.
C/ Deregulate to allow corporations to operate untethered to increase profitability.
D/ Drill baby Drill
The demand side policies take effect quicker than the supply side, So… as cyclical deflation takes hold in 6 months or so… they plan to respond quickly with:
Loose Monetary Policy switching back from QT-> QE

2) Default on the debt & execute the Great Taking to keep the system from collapse, leading to Great Depression 2.0
3) Productivity miracle
4) Inflate something "not used for anything" so no one starves & no debt collapses in nominal terms.

Roger Federer from his commencement address at Dartmouth:
“In tennis, perfection is impossible... In the 1,526 singles matches I played in my career, I won almost 80% of those matches... Now, I have a question for all of you... what percentage of the POINTS do you think I won in those matches?
Only 54%.
In other words, even top-ranked tennis players win barely more than half of the points they play.
When you lose every second point, on average, you learn not to dwell on every shot.
You teach yourself to think: OK, I double-faulted. It’s only a point.
OK, I came to the net and I got passed again. It’s only a point.
Even a great shot, an overhead backhand smash that ends up on ESPN’s Top Ten Plays: that, too, is just a point.
Here’s why I am telling you this.
When you’re playing a point, it is the most important thing in the world.
But when it’s behind you, it’s behind you... This mindset is really crucial, because it frees you to fully commit to the next point… and the next one after that… with intensity, clarity and focus.
The truth is, whatever game you play in life... sometimes you’re going to lose. A point, a match, a season, a job... it’s a roller coaster, with many ups and downs.
And it’s natural, when you’re down, to doubt yourself. To feel sorry for yourself.
And by the way, your opponents have self-doubt, too. Don’t ever forget that
But negative energy is wasted energy.
You want to become a master at overcoming hard moments. That to me is the sign of a champion.
The best in the world are not the best because they win every point... It’s because they know they’ll lose... again and again… and have learned how to deal with it.
You accept it.
Cry it out if you need to... then force a smile.
You move on. Be relentless. Adapt and grow.
Work harder. Work smarter.
Remember: work smarter.”

The two biggest source of broad money creation are 1) bank lending and 2) fiscal deficits, both of which cause inflation !

-If Fed cuts aggressively here, JPY goes to 120 and every CUSIP has a flash crash, as the carry trade blows up.
-If Fed cuts slowly, then it may just blow everything up anyway, cause the economy is rolling over and the ‘wealth effect’ was the only thing holding it up.
-Meanwhile, we just had a 10-yr auction that effectively failed. So if the Fed cuts at all, they blow up the bond market and the banking sector. They realistically need to raise rates aggressively here to save things (imagine that!!). That’s the EM Dilemma. Which is why DMs do not want to become EMs. Or in other words, ‘they’re fuct!!’

The American NIGHTMARE is SOLD to you as the American dream:
•$750/month car payments.
•$150,000 debt for college.
•$10,000 engagement ring.
•$400,000 mortgage.
•$40,000 wedding.
Now you’re a WAGE SLAVE FOR LIFE & STUCK in debt.
The system relies on this.

current federal fiscal deficit is masking slow down in a lot of sectors, government spending has been subsidizing fake job growth, deficit is very stimulative.

No investor alive has seen a US slowdown or recession with 122% US debt/GDP, 7% deficit/GDP, & -80% Net international Investment Position/GDP
The only thing keeping western governments nominally solvent was the inflation that is now fading.
