Wait, so #RobotChicken coined it like forever ago with the Humping Robot whose name we never learned, which is most definitely "Clanker"?

This pleases me. If a bank doesn't hate you, are you even trying? ;)

What's the status on your mom's farmhouse 2 years on?

Yup. Even the Conservative Globe & Mail: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/letters/article-cant-find-equitable-trade-agreement-with-canada-not-looking-for-one/ (Paywalled, but the title says enough)

I just tried sending you some money via Ko-Fi and as I suspected it thinks all money coming from Canada must be terrorist funding or some such and just generically fails. I've encountered this before when trying to support other folk. Would you be comfortable privately sharing your PayPal email address for me to send it directly from my PayPal account to yours?

Thanks Nina. Hi Paul. Glad to connect. I hope my offer isn't needed but it stands if necessary. I want Atticus to get the care he needs no matter what! 😸

I sent this very request for 2FA to my bank in /2008/, with a note that said "Why is my World of Warcraft account better secured with Blizzard than my bank account at your bank?" It is not an oversight that 17 years later the situation remains the same. It is not a technical problem. It's a legal problem.

I can confirm, from firsthand professional experience, that it doesn't just seem that way--it IS-- that way. The reason is complicated but the short answer is because it actually lowers their liability. Counter-intuitively.

Found it in the back of my closet. It was well worn! They should re-issue a commemorative edition!

Munroe and the EFF issued a special donation tier reward t-shirt with a custom comic strip that year as well. It's in the back of my closet somewhere.

I actually dressed up this way for Halloween that year and tied a helium balloon to my belt as part of the costume. When I arrived at the party, dozens of people looked at me in confusion and then one guy at the back of the room shouted, "Hah! You're Cory Doctorow!" We became the best of friends instantly. #TrueStory
