if ordinals increase competition for fees in transactions on the base layer of bitcoin does this not incentive transaction volume to move to lightening? The block size remains the same so the blockchain bloat argument doesn’t work.
i am a purist and don’t want ordinals on the blockchain, but who am i to tell users what they can and can’t do. If they follow the consensus rules and pay their fee, 🤷‍♂️
correct if i’m wrong please.

been at it for 2-3 years. Finally got a few btc. Hardest few years of my life, honestly. Do use leverage as we have seen. Met a few people at the BTC conference in Miami last year that had more btc but it on leverage in nexo, celcius, etc...Ive always owned my own and self, multisig custody. Now, most of them are wiped out and Im still stacking. Think of it as moving/saving wealth through space and time. I look at it as im sending future value to myself to access in 10-15 years. I wont sell it, ill borrow against it. So the price moving up and down doesnt mean much. So if btc was 100k right now I wouldnt do anything until I have enough to use.
The hardest part is holding on and knowing what you own and why you own it. It will be interesting to see how many of the HODLers really hold after this cycle and when its >100K +, it is very tempting to sell some and buy the nice car, vacation, etc.... The best piece of advice I have heard was from Yellowstone on Paramount. Jessie tried to convince his dad, Kevin Coster, to sell some of the land to use as leverage and he responded so eloquently, "Knowing that if you had all the money in the world, this (his land) is what you would buy, that's leverage." He understands what he owns.

seems like a meaningful use of block space to me. Im willing to pay the fee. Assuming BTC is here for forever, I would love to preserve a legacy or a memory in this way.

2023-02-19 02:05:43 GMT

using Nostr and Zion lately and reading Jeff Booths book, “The Price of Tomorrow.” i can’t help but think are we too early with Nostr and DID. Only a small section of the population knows Bitcoin and even fewer understand it. Then all of us here are Zapping each other like teenagers at their first homecoming.
Will it be the next wave of innovation that changes how we interact and send value over the internet? Are we the pioneers?
time will tell…..i’ll enjoy the ride either way.

2023-02-18 19:02:05 GMT

just setting up my nostr account on #Current App, shoot me a Zap!

2023-02-18 18:50:17 GMT

ok,

Zion vs Nostr? anyone understand it?

2023-02-18 00:20:12 GMT

it has an embedded lightning wallet and i get the concept but it took them years to build it and it seems like nostr is better every single day. im sure there is much more at the protocol level that is different.

2023-02-17 23:42:26 GMT

you have to use the lightening address. [email protected].

2023-02-15 02:08:32 GMT

haven’t had an issue. i had to place my lightening address on my profile, standard invoice won’t work for open ended Zaps.

2023-02-14 18:50:06 GMT

need a good news relay. anything besides Hacker News?

2023-02-14 18:45:49 GMT

yup, your strike user name [email protected] is your lightning address. place that in the section on your profile for the LNURL. this makes it where you can send over lightening.
