but there are plenty of apps/tools that have never existed before because nobody thought it was a problem worth solving, or there isn't a good enough product-market-fit
now you can make custom tools pretty easily to solve almost any problem you have. I have a ton of things I've wished for but never had the time to build, and now I can have those things solved quite easily.

I installed OpenClaw on a Debian VM, opened up the web chat, and told it that I want it to build a bridge to DeltaChat to communicate with me as it's not an officially supported integration.
I told it to pip install the deltachat-rpc-server, communicate with it over JSON-RPC, read my blog post about DeltaChat bots to understand how to use the JSON RPC, and to register an account on my server and send me the invite link.
it worked. Fully autonomously. Built the integration, and now I have an AI assistant inside DeltaChat

also you'll want to set the persist; option on the jail in case you want to start it up with no processes running so you can poke around and figure out what you need to get it working the way you want

You can add multiple relays (chatmail/email accounts) to your profile. Your account now survives server outages, censorship, or even government seizures. Your identity is not tied to a single email address anymore.
Change to another relay, message your contacts/groups, and they'll immediately learn the new address they can reach you at and will respond using that address now.
Just like how Wireguard gets a valid encrypted packet from a peer at a new IP address and automatically starts using it.

@nprofile…3gt0 @nprofile…2ysd it's easier for me to complain to core devs when there's an issue laying out the problem anyway. There might even be funding out there for these kinds of itches to be scratched.
We shouldn't just accept them forever. I think we can do better but we really need the smartest people encountering these problems to make noise about it

instance, the file /var/run/noshutdown is created to prevent
shutdown(8) targeted at the wrong machine.

@nprofile…00ws @nprofile…9ce7 @nprofile…pvqa they're quality, I really like mine. They seem fairly priced for the quality you actually get, they last a long time, no real complaints. I think the higher end stuff is ridiculous and the lower end stuff too risky to try I guess, so I just buy Sennheiser
