I think #Threads unspoken strength is its predictability. This is especially important for the media. The same is true with #Instagram and celebrities.
META has pretty much stopped evolving and that suits these groups - understandably so actually.
Many people simply don't have the time to play with new things and that a problem with #society not with them or with #socialmedia.

Amethyst does seem to include more features than any desktop client I've tried. It seems to be the way of the world now. #fedilab, one of the #android #fediverse clients is better than any of the desktops clients. Kind of annoying for those of use who prefer to keyboard and mouse our way through life 😞

I think it appears that way in all LN Wallets I've tried. Isn't it because it's not actually a record of the payment going through the blockchain, but rather a promissory note that it will be bundled into some future blockchain payment between the two holding wallets? I have a vague recollection of reading that somewhere. I think that might be how all off-chain payments work, give or take

I wondered if I could #asknostr something here? If I lose my private keys, does that mean no one is able to delete my #nostr posts? I suppose a court order could demand the #relays take them down, which would thin them out, but otherwise they're permanent?

Oh I remember you. Glad you got your nick sorted. I already bought some BTC last year when it was around £22K. I'm an odd sort, so the current price is putting me off. I checked and noticed i missed the £13K bottom, but that makes me think it will drop to at least £25K if it follows this trend.

I'm coming in fairly new and looking at these digital currencies and these are my thoughts.
#BTC is too expensive at the moment. I know I'll be able to buy it at around £20 again at some point and I'm patient.
#ETH is impossible to actually use, because of the #GAS fees, but i can wait till they come down. I'm patient.
#Monero is a really good way of actually paying for things, because it's cheap to send. Okay it takes a while to arrive, but I'm patient.
#Lighting is actually #bitcoin's killer feature, because it makes it usable.

Right now some clients are better than others at different things it seems.
Rabbit is really fast but it seems to fetch loads of irrelevant anime images for certain searches.
#asknostr is one example of this.
Does that mean the other clients are filtering? In this case that's a good thing.

I don't know if that's true. Though it depends which aspect of #BTC you mean. I use #bitcoin to pay for #VPN #payment and have done so for years now. I don't need faith to see its value as a fungible #currency.
Likewise, I don't need faith to see the value of the #lightning network either. It's self-evident.
The only aspect of the Bitcoin you need faith for is the store of value proposition and to be honest, I don't have that faith and actually i don't need it either.
I don't really trust any store of value. I don't trust #Gold or the dollar or even real estate. All those things are unpredictable and also irrelevant.
It's the #technology that's really important, just as it's the country that's really important with #fiat. All fiat is not equally redundant. Some are more risky than others.
I still think I'm an advocate, even though I don't care whether the price rises or falls. I actually preferred the idea it would stabilise at some point and so far I've been disappointed in that respect.
