How does someone with a nostr client emulate a user? I see ppl mentioning being able to do that. Presumably the private keys are stored by the client and retrievable by the client dev, perhaps even a third party? Am I being paranoid?

I have no idea how this works, how some clients continue to show old URL etc. I tried logging out and in of nostr.rocks and hasn't updated my Picture, not sure all this stuff syncs (or doesn't).

If you use different clients you'll be able to see people's names, but I don't know if there's any client that has a global feed as fast as nostr.ch (Hi, Splotchy here!) :)

Okay, got the nos2x extension added, was able to see my profile at metadata.nostr.com, but Submit button clocks when I try to update. I'm assuming I need another extension (as I think the site indicates). How do I get a "signing browser extension (NIP07)" added?

I suppose how you implement the client could dictate how you handle some of these questions, like a client could implement the friends-of-friends things. I'm sure Twitter (and really any social media platform) had to grapple with all this stuff, I'm curious if anyone on this platform that might had been involved in Twitter had an opinion on what was done right and what could have been improved in hindsight. ;)

I think it's great too, but I wonder how this platform will handle that stuff when it inevitably arrives. Is there already a framework around that kinda stuff? Is a global feed not probably something is going to be realistic if this gets widely adopted? It will simply be handled by trolls not being visible to ppl? Would a feed be typically just ppl you follow? Would there be some algorithm that might introduce you to friends -of-followed posts, etc.? There doesn't have to be answer to any of this, I'm just asking if ppl are thinking of those kind of "growth" questions. Just curious.

Oof, if you click on someone's profile in nostr.rocks it loads their entire posting history, was trying to DM someone. Not sure what the best client for DMs at the moment. Once the load finished seems fine on rocks fwiw.
