Avon DeRussate

I straight up do not understand how the Russian government can be in any way considered sympathetic to the left? It is made up of a bunch of billionaire kleptomaniacs that have asset stripped Russia and depoliticised the Russian people into submisssion (Putin alone is suspected to be the richest person on the planet by some metrics) and now they want to asset strip Ukraine as well. And that is before we even get into their stance on LGBT matters.

Utterly wild to think that Mid Gen-X to Mid Millennial is probably the peak of genuine tech literacy of the masses of the human race.
Boomers were born too early to easily learn.
Z were born too late to have a need to.
Now the mothership is in control. You will do as you are told.

I don't want any more analysis. I am done with analysis. I want consequences.

Seeing posts lamenting the exploding popularity of BS within our community living rent free in the heads of some Fedi users again.
We have to accept that most people do not care one jot about the Fediverse project and FOSS politics. They just want somewhere to hang out and have fun with their friends. You know? Like it USED to be? We here in the Fediverse had a chance to set the weather during Twitter's /first/ blow-up several years ago now, and we failed because too many instance admins behaved (and still behave) like robotic fun-police zealots.
We had the opportunity to prove to the wider community that we're not the geeky elitists they think we are. And we failed.
BS is another corporate platform that is destined to enshitify as they all do over time and then people will move onto the next big thing. Perhaps by that point Fedi mods will have grown up and realised that people do not appreciate being cut off from their entire circle of friends because a mod has a beef with another mod and blocked ALL intra-instance interactions (as opposed to just blocking public-timeline federation and thus allowing individuals with existing "pre-beef" friend networks to at least maintain them within their own home timeline) like a giant manbaby.
I like the Fedi project. I am a friend of it. But sometimes being a good friend means pointing out where we're fucking up. And the lack of emotional-intelligence among too many of our mods is a big fuck up.

There is a huge difference with being taught to understand computers and being taught to use a product that just happens to be ON computers (or to be more accurate tablets)
