Day started with meeting a new therapist and then rolled straight into my duty weekend for Army. Uniform fits a little looser these days; it's been a month since I've worn it. Good to see and interact with all of the kids, offer my two cents when asked, but mostly just enjoy talking with people and watching them grow and learn and be clever.
Got done with the last meeting at 8:30pm, 40m drive home, and back to work at 6:30am tomorrow.
Just a few more of these weekends to go.

People think I'm joking when I talk about specifically researching what dress codes/norms look like working in professional audio / recording studios.
I've been wearing a uniform for 21 years. It's not something I wish to bring with me into the next phase of my life.
When I toured Blackbird Studio in March, the director of operations showed up in a hoodie and I knew I had found my people.

I'm choosing to make a virtue of my mediocre guitar playing, as it's giving me an opportunity to practice "fixing it in post"
which helps reiterate the importance of getting it right the first time because it's SO MUCH EASIER

Someone at work just shared their attempt at a flyer for an upcoming class they'll be teaching and it's really painfully bad. Like a war crime against graphic design and information conveyance
and I am choosing not to fix it.
1. I'm not supposed to be doing 'work' things right now.
2. No one asked me to (not that this has ever stopped me).
3. they're still using the janky low-res png logo after I spent a day making them a nice SVG one in #Inkscape in Dec so they don't get more nice things.

Several months ago now, I used #Inkscape to recreate our office logo in a nice SVG format to replace the janky low-res PNG files we were using everywhere.
I can't help but notice that everyone is still using the janky low-res PNG files everywhere.
This shouldn't bother me nearly as much as it does.

Interesting stuff. Alzheimer's runs in my family--and so does diabetes, which makes intermittent fasting more than a little bit challenging.

I am installing the free version of #ProTools. I feel dirty, but I should have at least passing familiarity with it before I start the studio program in late September, since that is the main software they teach on.

Boarding flight to #Nashville in a few hours to do ground recon on the place I will be spending at least the first six months of my post-Army life. I've never been to #Tennessee so should be interesting.

I love this short solo #BassGuitar piece on my #FairCamp site, but I'm very much a child with power tools when it comes to mixing and I'm sure it could be better, so I'm going to mess with it some today.
