With the rebirth and near-instant death of #Digg, likely due to investor greed, it really makes you appreciate #Lemmy and #Piefed, and the #Fediverse in general, a whole lot more. There’s no threat of enshittification here.
Sure, we’ve seen some bad actors around (looking at you, Threads), but we’re all still here thriving while the big corporate turds keep recycling their usual garbage.

As an Alabama fan, I’m firmly in the camp of “Alabama doesn’t deserve to be in the #CFP.”
After yesterday’s loss, they simply don’t deserve it. #CFB

Dear #Fediverse,
Is there anything similar to #NeoDB that returns English results, or allows for translated English results? I love the idea, but I can’t always understand 😅

Apparently the website devoted to doxxing people who didn’t cry when Charlie Kirk was killed is just another grift. They’ve started a memecoin.

I wonder, exactly, how it is that some men feel as though they can’t discuss their feelings? I was raised by a man whose idea of “sharing feelings” was punching anything that moved, or worse. I realized quickly that wasn’t the right way.
Additionally, being open about your thoughts and feelings makes you feel better. Seems odd that someone would intentionally suppress that.

Same. I think I’m okay with it, though. Keeping myself occupied with this record seems to help.

That’s what makes the fediverse in general so appealing to me—the total independence. Using these small features to tailor my feed to what I want is why I continue being here.

2025-02-13 00:07:45 GMT

😂 and what’s even more strange is how customizable the entire experience is, but they still complain.
Mastodon is incredible, minus a few whining turds.

2025-02-13 00:03:09 GMT

- reply

There’s just this level of arrogance involved in the idea that someone’s feed should immediately be appealing to them, without them having to do anything to make it that way.
I’ve had to mute a lot of topics. I’ve had to mute and or block people that made my feed terrible.
And also, telling people how to post is, in itself, arrogant. As if they’re the arbiter of the fediverse.

2025-02-12 23:12:39 GMT

- reply

This is specifically for people who don’t want to see specific topics (USPol, for example). Not for adult content.

2025-02-12 23:11:21 GMT

If I see one more #Mastodon HOA member complain about how *their* feed is burdened by lack of CW from *other* posters, I’m going to snap.
**YOUR FEED IS NOT OUR OBLIGATION.**
You have filters, muting, and blocking. Utilize them. Take responsibility for your own feed, and stop telling others what to do with theirs.

It seems like it’s much more common than I thought! Apparently, some 30-50% of people have no “inner voice,” and some have neither an inner voice nor “inner visualization.”
I can’t imagine having a quiet mind lol. My ADHD refuses to allow it.
