@nprofile…h2rj My uncle was a pilot for United Airlines for almost forty years, flying out of O’Hare airport near Chicago. We lived thirty miles west of Chicago, in what was then a small town (the suburbs have since enveloped the town I grew up in, and marched even further west over the prairie). One of my uncle’s colleagues was an older pilot who coincidentally was the father of one my class mates; this older pilot was trained in the Air Force, and had flown fighter jets. (1/3)

Anyway, the story my uncle told me was that shortly after Boeing started delivering the 727’s to United this older colleague was tasked with moving an empty 727 from Chicago to some city in the west, probably Denver. This pilot told his wife to hang up her laundry in the yard at a specific time, and look for him overhead. Apparently he flew over at the appointed time, low in altitude, and did a barrel roll in the 727! (2/3)

@nprofile…r9u2 That M-504 is an impressive looking bit of kit. The Onkyo I had was at the absolute bottom end of their power range (60W?), and I can’t remember the model number. It was from before the era where Onkyo switched to black finish for all their equipment (in the 80’s?). It had the silver finish, with two rows of colored LED’s arranged vertically to display instantaneous power. This conversation prompted me, once again, to go on eBay and look for that model, but alas no joy.

I find them useful for situations where anxiety might keep me up; if I wake up in the middle of the night, and sense I might have trouble getting back to sleep, I’ll take one tablet and usually have no trouble getting back to sleep. And there is very little ‘residue’ the next day; I don’t feel brain fog like I do if I take St. John’s wort or an over-the-counter pharma sleep aid.

This drives a lot of the insanity: engines that switch off at the stoplight, cylinders that don’t get used unless you’re going up a hill, expensive and fragile 9 speed transmissions that cost $10k to fix, and so on.

He pounded on the buttons of the sound bar, and managed to not only change the sound input, but did something else to it that rendered video playback non-operational! I had to do a complete reset of the Roku and enter new credentials for all the streaming services !

@nprofile…d605 It sounds like you’re painting over previously finished kitchen cabinets? Part of the problem might be that the previous finish is made to be impenetrable; what we think of as drying is a combination of evaporation and some amount of soaking in. If the underlying finish is impenetrable then you’re missing that second component. You’ll probably need to talk to someone more expert than me, but it could be that you have to perform some amount of surface prep, i.e. sanding, to be successful.

Add to that the audio recording analysis of the shots, which suggested strongly that there were multiple shooters at different distances, and we can be certain it is all lies. The more interesting question is why are they lying? I happen to believe that Trump’s ear injury was faked as part of psyop to energize his base, but you can bet we will never know.
