@nprofile…hvqe oh I best make it a bit more clear then.
Emailed who/where?

@nprofile…hvqe it would seem so.
This service is either egregiously in breach or is perfectly legal there isn't a grey area here.
It's a Part3 service
It's specifically pornography
It specifically doesn't require AV
It uses email
If they can't bring themselves to say one way or the other what chance does anyone else have?

@nprofile…hvqe I had a series of Alice/Eve/Mallory examples ready to go for this afternoons 'Low Risk' session, is it safe to assume that this example (blog, with comments) will be a question you'll be posing in the Q&A?

I have two big hopes for the Online Safety Act
Loads more folks start hosting on .onion (and in turn more people using the Tor Browser and donating to the Tor Project)
A massive uptick in the use of the HTTP/451 error code; @nprofile…j343
Of course what is going to happen is that big tech will NannyState anyone from the UK who doesn't perform identity verification and the rich tapestry of smaller websites and communities will die away.

@nprofile…hvqe @nprofile…efuh - an important reason for asking the question is that nothing will work 100%.
But geoblocking is the easiest to implement, the one that doesn't require hoovering up massive amounts of personal data and the one that can easily be bypassed if folks still wish to do so.

@nprofile…hvqe no mention of the s66 obligations?
I do wonder how on earth the average person would go about "reporting to the NCA".
Also; how many people would fall into the trap of "making a copy" as part of their attempt to make a report? Or when trying to comply with s67(4)(a)

@nprofile…hvqe I've just read your risk assessment for the "Mailing List".
The mailman software generates webpages for each email sent, e.g. sent by you; @nprofile…mcne
If an email "publishes" a web page is it still an exempt service?
To go one step further, what if @nprofile…pm57 published what it received by email?

@nprofile…hdd9 @nprofile…hvqe so if I let anyone post without needing to register then they'd be visitors not users and therefore carved out of OSA?
4chan would escape the OSA despite being filled with priority harm content?
Seems a tad dangerous.

@nprofile…hvqe looks like OFCOM is claiming "visitors" are "users"

@nprofile…hvqe Are you talking about auth (e.g. using @nprofile…8jkl and Oauth for 'single sign on') or are you talking about a sort of "hub" that is distinct from the act of logging into an account?

@nprofile…hvqe I'm sure the lovely folks at @nprofile…k8dt would either be able to help or know of other good places (and curious is right next to the train station!).
I've held workshops at RISC's premises before; @nprofile…dvft which is still reasonably central.

@npub1wax…x0yw FWIW the Castle Tap ( @npub1v40…48d9 ) has a function room (with TV + WiFi) for presentations etc and was rudely derided as frequented by "Mostly IT types who are on the spectrum and talk slightly too loudly about Linux"; @npub1sv7…jllu
If I had a vote on venue change it'd be to there.

@npub1wax…x0yw if there was a market for it I'd happily have Ablative host shared (registration enabled) or turnkey/dedicated instances but like you say payment remains an issue.
The gatekeepers remain the same, "blast radius" could be reduced by having each seller having their own Stripe account or whatever but it's still problematic.
Certain cryptocurrencies are brilliant for evading gatekeeper control but adoption is low and there are ethical concerns that will keep some folks away.

@npub1wax…x0yw I updated my Pinetab2 last night and it finally has working wifi!
I love it because it's a FOSS tablet. I use it for SSH with ed25519-sk/ecdsa-sk, a little light programming and nothing else.
Nothing else because that's what I wanted the tablet for _and_ because yeah, it's not great for much else :/

@npub1wax…x0yw they are both very pricey for what might not end up being daily drivers and I have to admit; I already have two pinebook pros sitting gathering dust :(

@npub1wax…x0yw I'm desperately trying to choose between an AMD Framework 13" or an MNT Pocket Reform.
Framework probably has longevity and is x86_64 so has OpenBSD support immediately _(discounting the weird trackpad issues)_ but the Pocket Reform has a uniqueness that really appeals.
