I appreciate the reassurance! I know this is home for me because I’ll make one for myself here. I’m vocal now only because I just arrived and I want to vet my people. Your encouragement means a lot. Thanks.

so i came here thinking it was a break from twitter but i’m realizing nostr takes a bit more work to get to that point. which is fine, i still love it here and a bit of extra work never scared me.
if anyone knows how i can block all the people that use “retarded” in a derogatory way before i learn the code to do it myself let me know. #asknostr #noobstr
i’m so ready to be rid of these dense losers on my feed normalizing ableism, repathologizing disability as something shameful and reinforcing hierarchies that devalue both disabled and queer people simultaneously.

lmfao, at least your honest. genuinely curious though, what does using retarded or gay as insults actually add? like if we’re already thinking critically about bigger systems of harm, like being on the right side of genocide, inclusive language feels like a pretty natural extension of that. just something to sit with.

Did you rehearse labeling us or did it feel like an original take? What I’m saying has nothing to do with the government or my position on a fulcrum. The fragile male ego that persists on this platform manifests itself as ableist sexism. It is a personal problem for every male to figure out on their own but it devolves into surface level “doesn’t affect me” takes like this. It’s all insular and I don’t know why I waste my time.

Arrogant, privileged takes seem to be a running theme as a new Nostr user. I’m just grateful to see you calling it to light. I don’t have time for these “bro’s” using the R word, F slur, and calling things “gay.” Really dense. Thank you for your service.

I know not to take it personal or even respond but the behavior of some people in this space is concerning. Eventually I’ll learn nostr protocol well enough to cleanse my feed of such density. Also posting more of our stance will vet the right folks who actually want to conduct themselves with a shred of awareness.
Appreciate this post.
