@nprofile…jcp5 Yeah, i still have the codes. Are the accounts gone with no hope of recovery?

@nprofile…jcp5 is there any hope at all that kfcc will come back? I still have 2fa codes for my account

@nprofile…jcp5 i heard about it recently. Yeah seems cool. I also recently learned about Agent Zero. Dont really have an application for it. Mb it can help in ttrpgs for you? Having different nodels and memory?

@nprofile…v2f4 I got myself the Openwrt One router. its pretty cool, based on banana pi. Really happy with the state of openwrt and the hardware so far. Many normie reviews were telling how this is only for tinkering/development, but i literally have less issues with it so far than with commercial routers.

@nprofile…wj4k lol i had literally the same thought today. I also liked the idea of simplex chat, until i saw it is made in haskell

@nprofile…wj4k Is there actually any new software project in any field you have hopes for? I recently catch myself on the thought there there is nothing new/exciting i look forward to see being developed.

@nprofile…wj4k whats your experience with claude?

2025-06-25 19:24:26 GMT

@nprofile…wj4k assume I want to have multiple domains on a single email server (postfix+dovecot). Do I understand correctly that all domains' MX records should point to the same mail.maindomain.com ?

@nprofile…wj4k it seems that that youtube now forces to video to buffer for the duration of ad instead of playing the ad. I honestly feel that youtube and google are objectively going down the shitter. I think even the normies use these services less.

@nprofile…wj4k I want to build my own router. I've been reading and what I understand two "good" options are either Banana Pi with openwrt or an N100 mini PC with pfsense. Do you have an opinion on the matter?

I think the issue with distros like mint/ubuntu/etc. is that they try to be windows/macos. The problem is that it doesn't work like that with Linux - trying to shove everything under the hood and be user-friendly in the windows sense just breaks everything more.

2025-04-04 22:55:27 GMT

@nprofile…wj4k There is something I don't understand in an email server setup. I just have basic dovecot + postfix + sieve which are running on a VPS. The email is only for myself. If I think logically, for me it makes sense to use my PGP public key to encrypt all the incoming/outgoing mail on the server-side with it. This way whatever is stored on the VPS will be encrypted with my PGP key, regardless if the people sending me mail used PGP.
However, I don't see any recommendation or many resources mentioning this approach. Am I being retarded?

@nprofile…wj4k I think the ending of season 2 is perfect ending to the series. I don't believe it needs season 3.
As for the season quality - yeah, i would say entire season can be squeezed into 3 episodes without losing anything. Generally mid but ending sequence was kino.

@nprofile…aq5l why doesnt quantum entanglement exist? I still think quantum processors will not be viable unless something huge changes, but I don't think it has to do with the entanglement.
Optics processors seem also a stretch. Don't they currently require very expensive lasers to be efficient?

@nprofile…aq5l @nprofile…wj4k @nprofile…w8cy what i find strange that even if a person wants to completely dox themselves and give all the info, it is nearly impossible to find the way to do it. Microsoft support forum is filled with similar posts and the only answer provided is "tell the recipient to remove the email from the spam folder". Holy shit.

@nprofile…aq5l @nprofile…wj4k @nprofile…w8cy ah no i didnt do that. I tried their sdns service, i thought thats what you meant. There was also a website to delist IP, but it said thst my IP is not blocked. Which one do you mean?

2025-02-10 22:43:44 GMT

- reply

@nprofile…aq5l @nprofile…wj4k @nprofile…w8cy I tried the sdns, but it literally had zero effect. I assume this is partly by design but also partly by a sheer incompetence. I mean, DKIM fails whereas in any other domain it doesnt. It is some fucked up spaghetti code I bet.

@nprofile…aq5l @nprofile…wj4k @nprofile…w8cy Update on the mail server. After some invretigation it seems that DKIM is failing for outlook domains. It doesnt fail anywhere else, only on outlook domains. And it appears to be an issue others are facing. What a retarded thing.

2025-02-08 19:32:59 GMT

@nprofile…wj4k Do you run your own mail server? I am thinking of just ditching proton/any other providers and just concentrating on my own stuff running on a VPS. do you think it's a good idea?

@nprofile…wj4k thanks! how difficult is it to write such stuff from complete scratch? I just need 2D shapes, no 3D at all.

2025-01-13 12:27:43 GMT

@nprofile…wj4k I have the following problem I am trying to solve. I need to make a program that generates mechanical drawings like the attached pic. I basically have the equations that describe the shape, so I can draw them with the equation. But I also need to make all the arrows and other shit in a specific manner.
What approach would you suggest? I was thinking of using C, but maybe also Rust? Do you know any environment where this can be easily achievable? I need to do all from scratch, since this is gonna be one component in a pretty long pipeline that I am building.

2024-11-10 20:34:21 GMT

@npub1tj5…l33p do you currently use xmpp? I have a weird problem where I use it on phone+pc with omemo and the phone cannot retrieve the history from the server, saying that the omemo decryption failed. I talked with the server admin as well, he has no clue other than that he also has this problem. I am using Conversations on phone and Gajim on PC.

@npub1tj5…l33p I am trying to do some statistics in C. I usually used python, but want to try in C. I used Gnuplot to pipe data to it and plot, but it is significantly slower than using Python libraries. Do you have an idea how to make it faster?

2024-08-18 14:14:51 GMT

@npub1tj5…l33p you shortly mentioned this some time ago but I dont think I fully understood. What exactly is this string on your profile? Is it basically a PGP signature? Meaning people that have your public key can verify that you signed this with your private key?

2024-07-28 07:03:19 GMT

@npub1tj5…l33p I am in the process of implementing some stuff from statistics in c. Have you ever dealt with the topic? For example, i want the fastest as most efficient way to get random samples which fit a specific normal/gaussian distribution. I tried Latin Hypercube with Box Muller algorithm, but the results are not better than when I use standard Monte Carlo with Box l-Muller.

I want to keep it simple, low poert consumption but still have enough options to tinker around and try stuff.

@npub1tj5…l33p Hey, i am backing up personal files to mdiscs. I want somehow to be able to verify that the mdisc was burned successfully. @npub1tj5…l33p Thanks, I was looking into cling but had issues with it.
Matlab can be an option, but I guess i will just stick to Julia since it is completely free. Have you checked it out ?

2023-11-07 13:26:10 GMT

@npub1tj5…l33p Do you know any useful REPL-like implementation of C? The issue I have is that I need programming for calculations, which often requires plotting, working with changing data and "trying stuff". Writing and compiling in C is not really an option, since I need to try things interactively.
For this reason I am looking into Julia currently, but it has some issues of its own and as you mention, learning C is in general useful.

2023-10-23 13:11:11 GMT

@npub1tj5…l33p I was recently trying to find a program that shows which program is using the internet. Basically I want something that shows all the activity and gives the option to nuke programs ability to use the internet. Can you suggest anything? I am on windows.
