Here's my 17th dev log for my #indiegame I'm making in #godotengine . It's a first-person turn-based space strategy sim.
In this version I have a play with particle shaders to generate a fake endless looping dust effect, and improve the UX a little bit by letting the player reset to the start of a turn at will.

My 5 y'old boy, after a few months of school, developed a brand-new set of strong opinions about gender. Like performative "I HATE pink" non-sequiturs, just in case someone thought he might like something girlish.
I've had to fight tooth and nail to counteract this mind poison he's learned at school. "Look, my favourite bath towel is pink! I love gardening! Smell this nice flower!" I don't know how successful I've been, but it feels like trying to sweep the tide out sometimes.

Here's my 16th dev log for my #indiegame I'm making in #godotengine . It's a first-person turn-based space strategy sim.
In this one I show off my Ink scripting integration using the superb godot-ink plugin, as well as some rudimentary self-preservation instincts for enemy AI.

Any #godot peeps able to give some hints on how to do 3D space dust?
I want to add some dust and/or streaks to the environment to give players an indication of movement. I've got some results with a GPUParticles3D, but this isn't a great fit. I don't need particles to persist if they're off-screen, or far from the camera. Currently the volume around the camera is populated, leaving no particle count for when the player moves into new space. Works bad.

Here's my 14th dev log for my simultaneous turn-based space strategy game made in #godot !
I show a few missions I created to explore what I could make with my currently implemented game logic, and work out what I most need to add to enable more mission variety. I also improved the initial fleet selection process for warping in your ships at the start of a mission.
Next up: Integrating ink scripting and AI self-preservation instincts.

You are not immune to being scammed.
Today I was half a second away from tapping a link in an SMS that was informing me I need to renew my credit card details because my CC was expiring.
My CC IS expiring this month. I updated my CC details on two other services yesterday. Through sheer dumb luck the scammer happened to bait their hook correctly.
I must not be complacent.
Complacency is the opsec-killer.
Complacency is the little death that brings identity theft.
