Exactly.
As for show boosts option, if you enable them, it will expand properly and you would see the whole timeline included boosts with no issues. For algorithm as much as it is important in Mastodon for visibility, sure, it would depend how you want to see your timeline and mood by toggling between if you get overwhelmed by current events.

🤷
This is what happens when someone "boosted" excessively as in short span of time, like every few minutes, not their actual posts.
This is with "Show boosts" option disabled.

RE: https://vmst.io/@shadow/115925446020275267
Apparently if I've followed you and you have boosted excessively, your boosts will be hidden, no offense to anyone. There is no other way around it. It's not you, it's a Mastodon bug which probably won't get fixed or reported. At least I get to see your regular posts in my timeline.

2026-01-20 04:05:27 GMT

Going to stop using Mastodon's web UI. There appears to be excessive boosting bug causing home timeline to collapse into "Load more" leaving it empty or a post or two (if you have "Show Boosts" disabled).
And no, turning Show Boost back on will make "Load more" go away, it does, but not a solution.

"Load more" "Load more" "Load more"
Mastodon's web UI is starting to get unpleasant to scroll. Sometimes I would see 1 or 2 posts and the rest of the home timeline empty followed by "Load more".
