unfortunately centralization and convenience seem to be necessary to increase adoption of bitcoin as money. Thankfully the option for self-custody and decentralized interaction with bitcoin will always be there, but imo bitcoin will only "change the world " to the degree that people take personal responsibility and adopt the latter.
