Hot take- it’s not self custodial lighting if you’re using a phone app and an LSP. Even if the node is in the phone.

One step at a time, bitcoin marches onward.
Now the question becomes how long before the retirement account purveyors decide to add a #bitcoin allotment to the “volatile” or “high risk higher return” check box for those biweekly auto deposits, and at what percentage is that allotment?
Does the silverback make the move first and allow the smaller clients to test the waters, or does some upstart competitor make the move and start to show better performance and take some market share to force the old timers hand?
When do employers start advertising to prospective employers that their retirement plan outperforms some other competitor company looking at the same talent pool?
The train is picking up steam, it doesn’t make many stops, the faster it goes the harder it becomes to hop on and hold on.
The educated Individuals and self managers have the opportunity to hold their own keys or migrate to these new etfs, but the real momentum comes when then uneducated masses have their employer make the choice for them. Then some plebs money just gets DCA’d every two weeks, for forty years, without them ever even thinking about it.

So, if you add 🧩 re-hypothetication theory to this line of thinking, it could mean that the ETFs using Coinbase couldn’t be squeezed out of their position.
I think we need to keep an eye on coinbase’s total bitcoin under control, have those addresses been doxed?
As the cash can carry trade requires holding the long position, coinbase would need to be showing they’re total corn under management is growing.

So I think we have our answer on why the /spot ETFs were actually approved.
Because the futures contracts are not settled in bitcoin, but cash, and the etfs are similar, the cash and carry trade is happening there. So the cash and carry trade is 💯 on, but I believe it goes further.
The ETFs allow for spot price manipulation. As the ETF is the long position in the trade, and be because they’re actually backing it with bitcoin and the bitcoin sells/purchases happen with a lag, it seems the cash and carry traders can actually liquidate large amounts of the ETF, wait for the spot price to move downward, and then re enter the long side of their position at a lower level to ensure they can still capture the spread.
The larger the ETFs grow, the more difficult it will be for a third party to catch them offsides with an unexpected spot purchase.

If you qualify for FHA with a 3.5% deposit on a 500k loan at 2.5% interest, there are a lot of assumptions to to make about HOA fees, property taxes, PMI, existing debt levels. I made assumptions of 2700/y in property tax’s and 2400/y insurance and mortgage insurance of .8% and no existing debt, suggesting you make ~90k/year and will be paying just about 28k/year on the mortgage.
After taxes, and mortgage you should have somewhere around 2500/month left over. Buy your food, and other stuff like phone or utilities and you probably have about 1000-1500$ left over each month.
Save in bitcoin.
I think this scenario is totally unrealistic. If you’re making 90k per year as a single male, have only saved 17,500 dollars, and are deciding between buying a house or buying bitcoin with your ENTIRE savings, you possibly could have recently acquired a very secure position and are looking to leverage that job security ASAP but most likely have been spending too much. If it’s the former, you could decide to buy the bitcoin now and then proceed to buy the house in one year, or vice versa. If it’s the latter, you most likely can’t budget properly to afford the house or the bitcoin anyways.

And as I said, everyone needs a home, so the personal value of owning a home, becoming part of a neighborhood/community, and the security of not being forced out at the whim of an owner, is also lacking. Not to mention moving costs, security deposits lost(effectively a 13th month of rent dependent on an owners willingness to renew a lease), lack of autonomy over one’s lifestyle(want pets? The rub here is that you still need a place to live. And so you’re going to spend ~28,000 (2,350/m average for a single family home, rough number) per year to live somewhere no matter what, which means over thirty years you’re dropping almost 850k on somewhere to live that you don’t own.
Now, how much do you value not HAVING to move when some owner wants to take their home back? This also assumes the rent doesn’t increase over 30 years, highly unlikely. Is that worth the 100-200-250k you’ll spend on the house? Will the house appreciate that amount?
Houses are good investments if you live in them, because their not investments their expenses.

It works really great, we’ve been using it in our moonboi relay and it even works with major clients like Damus by using the global feed and selecting only the select relay as its source.
By having a whitelist of npubs combined with a mandatory # (in moonboi we use #🌝 but it can be changed and updated at will) it means that we can filter out all the noise the whitelist(paid members) of npubs post and only see the ones they #🌝
In your example, you could make it like (white listed npub) AND (#dev or #devstr or #nostr or #meshtastic)
Topical relays with relay explorers or apps with Damus global feed like abilities to turn on and off particular relay feeds is a great way to “filter” nostr, but would require a lot of relay connections which seems to harm clients

I’m cool with anything that was being worked on, but if you’re looking for particular things or my choices- I’d love the ability to turn on and off relays like I do in the global search but for my personal feed. If I only want to see stuff in my personal feed from particular relays like my friends’ private relay or what’s on the creatr relay… or maybe I want to post to only particular relays and not just all the ones I follow.
Also, it’d be great if the magnifying search glass was for all search, instead of there being two searches, the one in the main feed area that includes keywords and the magnifying glass area only searching for hashtags or people names.

Which relays would you suggest I rid myself of? 6 of my relays are specialized relays, the others are generalized.
I’d actually prefer a future where I can connect to MORE specialized relays, and curate my feed to see content specifically related to the specialized relays.
Maybe you can give me the option of turning relays off to improve performance without straight deleting them from my list- ala global feed.
