I agree with much of what Tony Hall says here. But he shies away from the role of the BBC in defining, not just reflecting, our culture. BBC News, in particular, is not impartial, as Hall fondly believes, but articulates establishment values and policy. The BBC created Farage, gives more airtime to Reform UK than the other opposition parties and repeats rightwing assertions without challenge.

I agree. I was a Unison member for 15 years and although the union was very good on individual support it was lacking in collective bargaining support at local level.
