Screws are mostly single use items for me.
An exception has been boat trim on varnished wood, where they’re removed, tied together with slip knots on a string for safe keeping. The wood is sanded and re-varnished then the trim is re-screwed and the screw slots are all aligned. On fancy work, I often covered recessed screws with wood plugs of the same or contrasting type.

I was taught 60 years ago to ask for a trial by judge if innocent because you only have to convince one person. Trial by jury if you’re guilty, one of your peers might save you. Surrendering your right to a jury trial can lead to a plea in abeyance & no record. It did require an attorney, the money was well spent.
