I don’t think politicians at any level of government are going to take on the policy that car ownership is a requirement for living in #canada Car prices are going to skyrocket, and importantly in all this insurance rates are going to skyrocket. Which means more people are not going to insure one or more of the many cars most households have and “force” the government to subsidize cars and insurance #cdnpoli #ontario #onpoli #ottawa

I don’t realize that provincially employers have to give you time to vote in an #election in #ontario and I’m already tired of the same song of low voter turnout out. There’s nothing about Dougie that makes him a good politician. He avoids media cuz his own campaign knows his fucking mouth is a liability, his candidates have all basically avoid community debates and its winter so voter turnout out in theory is a given. Fuck you if in 2025 you don’t care to vote #onpoli #cdnpoli

Okay #ontario how do we find out about advanced election stations? I have a fully packed day on the 27th (scheduled well before Dougie decided to “aSk fOr a mAnDaTe” and yes I know about the 3 hours from employers etc etc. I’ve seen folks being able to cast ballots early in #ottawa and can’t find any info if or why there arent options in my riding? The closest election station is closeish and closed at 9 but fuck I don’t want to stay out that late #election #onpoli

I truly believe a Pierre #conservative minority government would not last a year. Pierre would have to bargain with the Bloq most likely to have any confidence of the house to pass a throne speech and budget. Pierre only gives a fuck about #quebec as much as it’s a path to power. Pierre is not a negotiator who could stand having to make concessions. He’s too much of a thin-skinned little bitch. I think Ford replaces him as leader in the next 4 yrs #canada #cdnpoli #onpoli

I don’t wish a Pierre #election win on #canada But a part of me, in a minority government situation, is curious. Pierre is not a good politician. Neither is trump but somehow he’s gained a cult following that Pierre hasn’t. Conservatism requires adherence to the fringe while saying the “right” things to appease the rest not as radical and fucked in the head as the convoy types. But Pierre needs to signal to the convoy even more now #cdnpoli

I feel conflicted about this. A sizeable chunk of people in #canada seem enamoured by Pierre P. They haven’t paid any attention, have seen his series of “own the libs” sound bits and have been tired of Justin Trudeau. I think a Conservative “minority” government would be the best way to expose to people that aren’t bathing in koolaid how quickly Pierre would lose his fucking mind. He wants a majority, because he wants power. Not because he wants to govern https://archive.is/2025.02.15-171635/https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-when-the-plane-hits-some-turbulence-youre-maybe-going-to-want-a-pilot/

Just the biggest fucks given by this city. We encountered 3 of these snow walls at 8:15 AM on 3 different sections of sidewalk. Rock hard snow left like this overnight. Snow clearing methods are archaic, ableist, and are predicated on making sure people driving can drive as fast as possible as soon as possible and fuck everyone else #ottawa #winter #ontario #onpoli

I can’t fathom staring at the bottom of an empty bottle of any kind in 2025
And…
I am fucking grateful to be 19 years clean and sober today. I had a wild night in northern Croatia before getting on a 12-hr overnight bus ride on the old coastal highway February 9th, 2006, that was a shit choice to be loaded for. I was 21.
You don’t have to wait for tomorrow y’all. Grateful for today #ottawa #sober

2025-02-04 17:22:23 GMT

So let me get this straight as I watch the #ford presser in #ottawa The province is uploading the entire LRT system to the province and OC Transpo will run it? So we will be responsible as a city to manage personnel and busses and all our transit budget will be focused on that as all LRT assets will be owned by #ontario Is that the deal? Fuck, that a lucky break for Sutcliffe politically. Gets to carry the timing of this shitshow as his own #onpoli #cdnpoli

How are people “dealing” with living every day right now? I’d hazard all (who aren’t sober) the people I know use/consume edibles or drink. I’ve had to lean on relationships as I don’t drink or consume drugs. It’s been almost 3 months since I smoked a cigarette. Only the 2nd time since I was 15. Let me bury the lead by saying that nicotine replacement is going to be continuing cuz, well, I’m tying the best I can. Vaping and so much gum. Fuck, shits hard #ottawa #canada

2025-02-01 23:12:17 GMT

If you’ve paid any attention to #amazon prime in the last few years you know the service is shit, shipping has become a nightmare and after what they just did in #quebec if all this isn’t enough for you, on February 1, 2025 I dunno what the fuck to say. We’ve been without prime for 2 yrs and I can say you will adjust. Fuck convenience #canada #ottawa #cdnpoli

2025-02-01 22:50:18 GMT

100% tariffs on #tesla blow open the IP law review that James Moore and Harper strapped us to, push for all levels of governments to get off of #twitter severe all federal and provincial contracts with #amazon Like there’s an array of shit that could happen without dollar for dollar retaliation which won’t do much except virtue signal #canada #cdnpoli #onpoli

2025-01-24 16:44:36 GMT

We’re really going to see if the #ontario opposition parties can get their shit together now that there’s confirmation Ford wants to add this power grab to the mix. I have serious doubts.
Dude doesn’t want or need a mandate for Trump. He doesn’t want to run an election after Pierre has been elected. He’s a big fucking coward and if other leaders are even 1/2 functioning they should be able to make this #election a toss up #onpoli #cdnpoli

I hear you. Unless I don’t vote at all, I’d probably vote for our NDP candidate but federally I have no idea who that is and voting for them on principle isn’t a thing for me. Our liberal MP is a waste of space and the Greens, if they even ran a candidate here probably wouldn’t have a chance

2024-12-20 16:40:53 GMT

I still stand by Singh should have stepped down a year ago and Nehed Nenshi should have taken on the federal NDP leadership. There are enough voters who will vote for Pierre because Trudeau is a no-vote and have zero reasons to even think about Jagmeet. I think scenarios of a conservative minority government were possible. But not now. Fuck the NDP are bad at this and they will pay. I predict the Bloc being the official opposition #canada #cdnpol #onpoli #ottawa

Stop complaining about commute times you fucking babies. That’s good ol’ Liam’s take here. What a dinosaur who probably used ChatGPT to write this fluffy worded drivel. Our culture is car culture. And Liam’s scared that we are losing our car culture. And at the same time wants to blame people for not using transit. Forcing people to 5 days in the office is easy. It requires no work or vision. Shocking #ottawa #ontario #onpoli

Does truth matter? Obviously not but the timeline Pierre is laying out, that the week Trudeau did his classic “tut tut” to the US about not electing a woman president, he was going to fire Freeland and replace him with “Carbon Tax Carney”
Whatever is true doesn’t matter. Carney has been fully tarred in all this and the story “appears” coherent. Pierre is very good at staying on message. Carbon tax Carney is going to be repeated until the next election is over… fuck this shit #cdnpoli #onpoli

2024-12-17 17:33:04 GMT

Pierre is not having a press comference in Mississauga today. He gets a massive free earned media campaign spot to bash everyone political party around. I think he’s full of shit like all career politicians but I’d hazard it’s pretty effective for the folks who don’t follow the ebbs and flows of politics in #canada Jesus, what an utter self-own on the part of all other parties #cdnpoli #ontario #politics

no kidding. I’ve kept CAA for this reason in case I’m far from home. Curbside is getting me another. I’m looking into warranty too but may not be an option

2024-09-26 12:49:28 GMT

I’ve read that folks have Gates Carbon Belts break, tho they are advertised as lasting 30,000 kms. Ours lasted 3,975 ish kms. I’m the max rider weight for our bike and i mis-timed a rotation onto a curb with no momentum 🤷‍♂️ Thankfully was only 600 m from home so didn’t have to push the bike or call CAA. But as an all-season option that are low maintenance with a bit of washing and silicone spray? Pretty decent #ottawa #ottbike #biketooter

Absolutely go fuck yourself Doug Ford. Legislation to override creating transportation space for people living outside of a car?
Holy shit I just can’t anymore. This, on the general narrative, says he you stuck in traffic, the people moving around outside of a car are the reason your not driving 120 kms/hr right now. It’s going to make it more dangerous for people who live and move without a car. Fuck this utter piece of shit #ontario #onpoli

Sutcliffe and the left over team of Jim Watson who surrounds him, have decided to continue the storied tradition of treating residents like fucking idiots. Most big cities in Canada raised property taxes in 2022, and 2023 by large %s. I guess we’re too stupid to know this or see the messaging game being played here but I think it’s very funny that MP Jenna Sudds who was on buddys mayor campaign team has decided to turn on him… https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-mp-and-cabinet-minister-responds-to-sutcliffe-s-transit-funding-request-1.6995417 #ottawa #onpoli #cdnpoli
