OK! SO! I just went through the website for every town and village in Orange County.
They all have websites, which is great! All the websites post minutes and agendas slightly differently, which kiiiinda sucks.
It's doable to write scrapers here, but there's possibly easier ways. Do you have friends with any of the IT teams for these places?

does the Sheriff's Department / Police Department manage their own settlements or are they approved by an elected body?

I have access (I mean, really everyone has access) to so much more data here; if you give me municipalities you care about I can pull more? And show you how to get the raw data.

not complete yet, no. There’s still some real backfill I’m working on. If you (or anyone!) has a CivicBand link to a settlement decision I’ll add it!

fascinating! I’m pulling from meeting minutes documents because that’s the public record I have. It could be LA is “hiding the ball” somehow?

California has spent over $400 million in settlements for Law Enforcement misconduct since 2010.
I know because I built a site to track it:

I know this is run by JetBrains and JetBrains makes IDEs, but I honestly don't know what @npub1vv8…6fhk is getting out of this that would be useful for:
- fundraising targeting
- outreach targeting
- events targeting
which are kinda what the PSF does?

And I have finished @npub1vv8…6fhk's survey!
This year felt... weird.
The AI focus of course makes sense, but like...

- one question on DBs?
- one question on ORMS?
- no questions on desktop / app frameworks
- no questions on gaming toolkits
- no questions on DevOps toolkits

tailscale funnel does not support custom domains.
ngrok charges $18/endpoint, for something that cloudflare gives away, and it's yet another service I have to think about and manage.
I used to be a heavy ngrok user, and slowly drifted away.

2024-06-04 22:56:00 GMT

This right here. I’d love to move off cloudflare, but until there’s something that actually replaces their service, it’s untenable.
Yes, I know about Tailscale and ngrok. No, they aren’t a replacement. https://wetdry.world/@lexd0g/112557872631430477
