Basically: any subscriptions made through the iOS/Apple store now have the 30% fee applied, which comes out of our portion of the sub. It also seems iOS subscriptions are subject to a 75 DAY hold, which is truly beyond any normal processing time

Still technically there, but owned by Russia. Clunky, painful, unwelcoming, the community that built it long ago fled or banned, everything of value censored & paywalled into silence, with only a few big accounts keeping it afloat.

my parents are boomers and were children in the 50s.
Lately people have REALLY stretched the boomer years til it somehow now ends in 1965 and “Xennials” start in 75, so I guess GenX is only 10 years?
A TON of boomer nostalgia is for the late 50s, or the part of the 60s that looked just the same

Part of the reason Boomers get so weird about the sainted 1950s is that they experienced childhood during that era & came of age in the 70s when politics, the economy, & culture went very sideways.
Inflation got crazy, oil shortages, Watergate, high crime, innocent hippie to angry punk in 5 years.
Well, I hope you enjoyed that attitude because it does not hold a CANDLE to how weird Millennials are gonna get about the 90s after the 2020s are done with us.

No education.
No healthcare.
No retirement.
No programs.
No choices but theirs.
Certainly no help with housing.
No help when all that comes home.

A lot of people aren’t getting that when we say “there wont be any more elections & it doesn’t matter what the constitution says because Trump & his horde will burn it,” we don’t mean they’re going to cackle evilly on TV & declare democracy is over.
They don’t have to.
Of course there’ll be elections. They’ll just be like Putin’s elections, where he always wins, the votes don’t matter, & any effective opposition is punished after the fact.
