i used to think there was a narrative for cypherpunk defi but really there isn't, it will forever be kyc and centralized. everything eth etc have to offer is just the old system, there's zero practical benefit to decentralization in all use cases. nobody is going to trust their retirement tokens to a defi contract on solana, ever. they will always want the guarantee of a centralized entity destroying and restoring their stonk tokens to a new wallet, in the event of a contract failure or theft.
the only interesting non monetary use for blockchain is art, and i am always willing to change my opinion if it is *clearly* shown to damage the money-ness of bitcoin. but if it does, it may simply mean money needs a new design.
and what i think is most likely to happen, the nft trading activity or art just gets diminished in the long term. i think there's a good chance ordinals etc just fade away and may be the worst, least liquid investment you could ever make, if that's what brings you to it.
but for weirdo collectors, i mean, it's fine lmao

Most of ordinals are straight up spam but if you take some time to look at some artists you’ll find a lot of gems. There are historical items, cultural items; technical/game items, oddball/error things and pure art plays, or combinations of that.
Early counterparty assets have less of the eth style 10k spam collections imho. One of my favorite proto NFTs is INVISIBLPEPE, has the rare pepe historicity and is arguably the first conceptual art piece on btc. But I’ve come around to ordinals a lot more lately. It’s good that the items can be pruned by nodes imo.

core cpi is 4%, if you add food and energy, you're looking at something like 8 or 9%, that's if you believe the government's numbers.
so you get something like STRC or SATA to retire, collect 12%, you should actually only be living off the extra 3% in yield because the rest is eaten by inflation... this is a worse situation than the "5% drawdown" Dave Ramsey rule for retirement. you'd need 1.6M in STRC to generate a $50k retirement salary, which is not enough to live these days and only getting worse.
so even using what the world considers an "insanely high return", "risky financial engineering", people don't have a truly viable tradfi option for keeping their wealth.
when are people going to say fuck this and just start buying bitcoin?

Academia is largely a you scratch my back, I scratch yours situation. People's research is dominated by "writing to the grant" or "producing for the investor", which means they rarely have full autonomy over their awarded funds. Post Epstein and if you watch Age of Disclosure, there's clear indications that certain topics have been hidden and others promoted, likely to slow scientific advancement. It's pretty deflating. I'm not super familiar with the psychic work of the 70s, vague recollection of this, but it is pretty clear there probably were deliberate mis/disinformation campaigns and it wouldn't surprise me if this was along those lines.
But even with that, my larger point is that we shouldn't have missed all of these things flying around since the1950s!

Regular people have been conditioned to love being victimized by scams and fantasize about being the scammer. They hate ethical money and will be financially crushed by deliberate campaigns to destroy global middle and lower classes such that a one world government is much easier to install.
