@nprofile…d0jr My hands are perhaps on the bigger side of medium. I use this keyboard both with my Linux machine and an employer-provided Mac. My layout is very custom, I have left control at the usual spot as the second key from the bottom left corner and alt next to that. I haven't yet bothered to learn new positions for those (or for backspace, I have it available as a thumb key but also have the standard top right corner location mapped).

@nprofile…d0jr I've been using a #moergo #glove80 (mostly with Emacs, obviously) for almost three years now, and can definitely recommend it. I switched over from a Kinesis Freestyle 2 when I started having wrist trouble, having used some Freestyle variant for a very long time before that.
There is a definite learning curve, mostly related to the columnar layout and not so much the keywords, I think. The first couple of weeks were frustrating but it got better after that. I can type on laptop keyboard just fine after switching, too.

@nprofile…rtl5 No, over 14400bps dial-up (charged per-minute, maximum internet use one hour per day) it was not in practice possible to download a Linux distro.

@nprofile…rtl5 As far as I'm concerned, the year of the Linux desktop was 1998. Sadly not yet #debian but #slackware . Those days it wasn't actually possible to download a Linux distro so we installed what we could get our hands on..
