I've got the bare bones of a story in my head. Unsure about the setting though. It might be fantasy, but I want it to be different from my usual spiel. Something new.
So, I'm delving into myths and folklore from non-European, non-Christian/Greek/Roman/Nordic settings. Food for thought.
It might come to nothing, but at least it's there.

#WritersCoffeeClub 20/7: Talk about a friend who really drives you as a writer.
Sadly, most of my friends are - while in parts interested in reading the outcome - hardly interested in the creation process of stories. So, if my internal drive isn't enough, there's little else to motivate me.
Actually, I think some may even prefer it if I don't write, because it'll leave me more time for them.

#ScribesAndMakers 29. Someone else promotion day. Tell us about someone else's work. Let's boost away.
I am reading @nprofile…n2fr Woodspell! I started out with the bird shifter story "midnight crow" and soon realized I want to know more about this world. Thus, up to the beginning - and it is such a unique approach and a richly constructed universe. I am looking forward to working my way through #TalesofArdonna.

#PhantastikPrompts 23.

Was anderes gab es m. W. nicht in der Gegend um Hameln 1284.
oh, und Schiffe natürlich.

#FridaVonHameln has just been published on Amazon:

The English version #FridaOfHamelin is about to be done and may come out on April 1st.
Medieval history: A story set in the time and down of the Pied Piper.

#PhantastikPrompts 20.

#WordWeavers 03/20 How much romance is in your story?
It's not the typical kind of boy meets girl romance and all centers around how they skirt around each other in their awkward wooing dance.
There's some hidden feeling. And secret longing. Both that is mostly between the lines.
But yes, love will always play a role in my books, in one way or the other.

#WordWeavers 10 Mar: Antagonist POV: Imagine you achieved your goal. What’s next?
That's quite straightforward: Marek is gone and Frida and Dietrich are getting married. They'll fight a lot since he'll want her to sell her old house and use the money to buy a new one in prominent locations, his sons will be getting a word in, and all will be loud and messy.
Oh, and the Pied Piper may never have happened.

#WordWeavers 9 Mar: If you need to share an important piece of history/lore, what’s your approach that avoids info dumping?
If possible, through dialogue (teaching someone works best) or else in small sentences thrown in between.
"... as this was the way Queen X would have see it." (Hey, look! They was a Queen X with views!)
I gotta admit that I've done a bit of info dumping too in some stories, just to get it out of the way, but I try to keep that to the bare minimum.

2026-03-09 08:23:18 GMT

#PhantastikPrompts 9.3.

In Fantsay sowieso.

Rights of my creations. I'm never ever surrendering them again.

2026-03-01 08:26:38 GMT

#ScribesAndMakers 1/3. How much time do you expect to have for creative work this month
I don't know. I have no other WIP but #FridaVonHameln at the moment and there is a new person in my life.
Maybe we start up drawing together, that could be fun.
Or maybe it'll all end in tears and I'll be writing a sad, sad song at the end of the months.

2026-02-28 11:45:30 GMT

2026-02-28 07:53:18 GMT

#Wordweavers 28 Feb 'Would you like to meet any of your characters? Would you tell them who you are?'
Um, no. I am, after all responsible for many a disaster that befell them.
I'd rather stay the obscure powers that be.

2026-02-27 08:59:52 GMT

#WordWeavers 27/2: Which of your characters do you find especially interesting? Why?
All who have a background story. And the more hidden that story is at first, the more interesting the character. It's hard to choose, but I believe Leander of #AlsterDiamonds takes the pick, poor tortured soul.

2026-02-22 13:40:20 GMT

#PennedPossibilities 938 — MC POV: What is your favorite work of art? What do you love about it?

#FridaOfHamelin

2026-02-19 07:48:02 GMT

#PennedPossibilities 935 — What are your writing goals for 2026?

I might revisit #Kyznon.
Or I might start something new.
Or I might take that true break I keep yapping about 😅

#WordWeavers 9 Feb: Have you ever talked to a reader of your story? How did it go?
Not in person, only via Social Media. And so far, it was lovely. Only people who liked it have contacted me.
However, there was someone who pointed out a grave error with some of my printed books margins. For that, I was very thankful and corrected it ASAP.
If anyone ever finds an error in one of my books, please let me know. I'm not above admitting and rectifying a mistake.

2026-01-14 08:50:56 GMT

#ScribesAndMakers January 14: Is there a color you find comforting?
The honey color of my hardwood floor or the warm yellow of the sun going down.
Just don't make me wear it 😜

2026-01-14 08:44:31 GMT

#WritersCoffeeClub Jan 14 What’s a service or skill you’d like to offer your fellow writers?
Apart from the usual, I'm also a trained OB/GYN. If you are unsure about any medical issues regarding your characters (especially the difficult childbirth), contact me.
On that note: Please, let's stop the myth that the "first time" *has* to hurt. It's wrong.

2026-01-06 19:05:12 GMT

I'm currently despairing over cover ideas for Frida - and no, I'm not done yet. But I searched around and saw a truckload of AI crap at pixabay. None of the photos and nothing at canva fits what I'm thinking of.
I'm afraid I need someone to draw a picture for me. But I don't want that cartoon style I get on bluesky.
Any suggestion for an artists who doesn't cost an arm and a leg? (And yes, I am willing to pay good money, but only for good work.)
Or maybe I need to mull this over more...

#WordWeavers 30 Dec: How has your writing been this year? Any achievements/wins/lessons you want to celebrate?
Looking back, I'm amazed to realize that I published quite a few books this year. Granted, most that writing took place last year, but I translated two of them, too. And I went wide with most of my German books.
I've been so focused on my struggle with writing these last months that I totally forgot all about that. It *was* a successful year.

@nprofile…mwjf Nope, they said it was porn since it includes incest and I hadn't declared it properly. It honestly never occurred to me to categorize it as pornografie since it is very non-explicit, only hints at what happens. I had a content warning about the incest and a label 18+, but it seems I stepped on somebody's toes.

2025-11-30 09:02:35 GMT

#WordWeavers Nov 30. When writing, do you consider your topics to avoid book bannings or fallout of any sort?
No. I know some Puritans have issues with some books I wrote because I don't always gloss over sex. I also wrote a story inspired by Morgan and Artus which includes non-explixit incest and that got banned from D2D.
I don't care. I'm more sensitive to age issues than I was ten years ago, but apart from that - I write what I want to write. Full stop.

#PennedPossibilities 807 — Have you ever written anything that falls within the genre of horror? If you haven’t, is it something you would be interested in doing someday?
No.
And no.
It's just not my cup of tea. I betaread a couple of horror stories, and some are truly well crafted, but the real-life horror these days is enough for me.

2025-10-08 07:13:19 GMT

#WritersCoffeeClub 8 Oct. How many narrative voices does your current WIP have?
#Kyznon has four.
But I might rewrite the whole thing.
In general, I stick to one or two. Whenever I have more than one POV, I either switch to 3rd person or the whole thing is in 3rd person to begin with.
I'm having real trouble as a reader with books that are told in 1st person but more than one POV. I never remember whose turn to narrate it is.

2025-10-05 06:41:31 GMT

#ScribesAndMakers 5 Do you make your creations available for people to read/view/use? If so, where, and why there? If not, why not?
The majority of my stories are available to be read or bought via the common online stores as well as - in Germany at least - in traditional bookstores, although you need to order them.
Some stories are not fit to be shared.
But those that are, are here:
https://anderlandbooks.com/

2025-10-01 07:04:15 GMT

#ScribesAndMakers Oct 1: How are things looking for you creatively this month?
I will be traveling more than usual, meet people from my past, and expect to have less time for creating.
But maybe that's a good thing. Maybe that'll get me out dabbling along with this story, refresh, and start better in November.
Expect some more things regarding older stories of mine this month. As always, I'll mark them with a hashtag to make distinction easier.

2025-09-29 08:14:42 GMT

#WritersCoffeeClub 29.Speaking for yourself, what would make a work ‘obscene’?
Glorification of abuse of others that are different somehow. No, actually, all kinds of glorification of abuse and violence.
It exists, yes. We can write about it, too.
But let's stop glorifying (looking at you, super mega alpha trope).

2025-09-10 06:47:35 GMT

#PennedPossibilities 780 — Do you have any favorite tropes (not clichés) that you enjoy writing?
I realized while reading the responses that, while I do enjoy a couple of tropes (such as found family, friends-to-lovers), I often react quite allergic when reading and realizing I know where this is heading, and it's that kind of story again.
I want new. I want to read books that deliberately break these tropes.

#WritersCoffeeClub 6 September. Do you write daily? Why or why not?
Nope, I don't. I write when I'm in the right headspace and have enough time to sit down. I can write the entire day long if that is the case. On the other hand, weeks can go by without me writing anything.
And look at that. I managed to write 30 books that way 😎

2025-08-28 07:57:43 GMT

#PhantastikPrompts 28.08.:

2025-08-27 07:40:32 GMT

#WritersCoffeeClub 27. How traditional is your writing? Which tradition?
Quite traditional in the western tradition, I suppose. I shake up some clichees, especially women/men stereotypes, but apart from that...
I don't tend to cling to traditions. I just don't know any better.

2025-08-25 13:24:08 GMT

#WordWeavers Aug 25. Do particular kinds of animals show up in your writing? Which are you more likely to include or neglect?
Horses for travel, cats for plot reasons, and as of recently, birds.
I tend to neglect dogs since im not a dog person.

#Kyznon

2025-08-24 10:23:19 GMT

#WritersCoffeeClub - Have you ever written a work that was a retelling of another work?
Never. Im not the biggest fan of reading those, either.
However, I once read a retelling of Rumpelstilskin that was really awesome. I might revisit the idea of reading them.
But not writing, no. I need my freedom.

2025-08-24 10:20:59 GMT

#WordWeavers 24. Do you use different voices or types of language while writing? In what contexts? How are they distinct?
Yes, depending on social standing, especially in historical novels. I refrain from using too much dialect because I, as a reader, often struggle to understand that.
I avoid complex words for the average peasant boy, such as Shyu, whereas Naynah, the court bards daughter, us way more familiar with that.

2025-08-23 07:24:25 GMT

2025-08-21 07:47:09 GMT

#WordWeavers Aug 21: Do you prefer writing stories with ensemble casts or with an intimate set of characters?
Both are good, depending on the story. My historical books, especially the traveling ones, tend to have big casts because they keep meeting people.
But in my current WIP, the cast is so small, it's basically the 4 MCs and a few SC that appear and disappear again.

#WordWeavers 16 Aug
Who is your most flamboyant character, and is it more visual, behavioural, or something else?
I'm not sure I have one who truly fits the word.
Maybe Gabriel from #TheCountsServant. He surely doesn't mind attention. And he dresses in baroque fashion.

2025-08-15 07:19:17 GMT

#WritersCoffeeClub 15/8: From which real-world events have you taken inspiration?
For this story? A bit of medieval life, traveling, and conquering. But mostly, this is my way of not dealing with what goes on today.
The biggest inspiration is the crows that haunt the roofs all around me.
#Kyznon

2025-08-15 07:14:55 GMT

#ScribesAndMakers Aug 15. How's your creativity going so far? Would you like help and/or feedback?
It's getting better! Words don't rush out like they did with my last project, but this is ok. I'm still developing my world, and I underestimated how much time that takes.
Last time I wrote high fantasy, I had been building that world since I was three. Weird how I simply forgot about that.

2025-08-15 07:11:02 GMT

#WordWeavers 15. Do you plan your themes, or do they arise naturally as you write?
They arise. I start with one idea, a scene, a thought, whatever. Everything else comes along.
Some themes are reused because I'm not done exploring. Some themes I shy away from. I'm sure my therapist would have a field day analyzing all of my stories 😅

2025-08-15 07:03:21 GMT

#PhantastikPrompts 15.08.
Was passiert?
Oh je. Kyz wäre erst einmal furchtbar verwirrt in Astrid Lindgrens "Allerliebste Schwester".
#Kyznon

2025-08-14 07:00:25 GMT

#WritersCoffeeClub 14 Aug: What causes distance between your characters?
There's the fact that all 4 would be useful tools to own, and they don't want to be owned. Thus, they run.
And there's the curse and that prophecy, and stubborn people don't like to be owned by that either.
#Kyznon

And now I have the idea of a spinoff with said emperor and his view of the world... ah, damn.

Du erwachst in deiner Geschichte, was tust du?

#WordWeavers Aug 13: On a scale from 1 to 10, how safe is your world?
With 1 being a huge meteorite approaching really fast,
and 10 being the place I live now, only without crime and assholes,
a 4. Shuy's just been abducted, Naynah basically locked up, and nobody but Kyz and Teilin gives a damn.
But at least they got a roof over their head and basic food and water. And no imminent death looming either (or...?)

#PhantastikPrompts 12.08.

#WordWeavers 12. On a scale from 1 to 10, how comfortable is your MC's life?
With 1 being locked up in some soggy dungeon in chains,
And 10 being lunging somewhere on plush cushions, without a worry regarding food, drink, and freedom for himself and his friends,
Kyz is currently at a solid 3.

#ScribesAndMakers 8/12. What's the most rewarding thing about your creativity?
The rush of creating, whenever it hits me.
Which is, unfortunately, not right now.

2025-08-12 12:12:13 GMT

#PennedPossibilities 753 — Where do your SCs feel the happiest?
Shyu and Naynah are happiest when they are doing music together, in perfect harmony.
Teilin... hasn't figured out yet when she's happiest. However, she's the least unhappy when she's free.

#PennedPossibilities 752 — Tell us about something that will always make your antagonist laugh.
Conquering the next country and securing his power. In a muhahaha way.
#Kyznon

#ScribesAndMakers 11: Have you ever exhibited artwork in a public place?
Nope. Unless you count books at digital stores or websites. Everything else i created in my life was not worth being presented anywhere.

#PhantastikPrompts 11.8.

Translation:
"But Shyu is gone." She stifled a sob with difficulty. "I can't create perfect harmony on my own. And he's gone ..." She broke off, her lower lip trembling.
"We'll get him back." Her look cut his heart in shreds.
"Sure?"
He was anything but sure. But he gently pulled her close and whispered into her hair, "Of course."
Then he held her while she cried.

It's the very last i just wrote. It's in German, though. I'll share a translation later on, no time now

@nprofile…009v It's not even a title. It's just that the engine doesn't get i do mean Wielder and not wilder, resulting in things I don't care about.
You'd think it would have learned that since I've read all of your books, but no. It's "smart".

@nprofile…009v Great! I just looked for your book on amzn and it kept showing me results for "The Way of the Wilder"
I really, really hate that search engine.

@nprofile…009v If you use something like booklinker (mybook.to), you will have all these links combined in one.
Booklinker is free, genius.link costs something, but you'll get far with the free version!
This is one of mine as an example. It should always take you to your local amzn store

Hi Sarah! I know only one book is left for The Way of the Wielder. I'm sure you'll continue writing - but will this be in the same universe or will you create something different?

8.8. Was könnte dein früheres Ich dir raten, was das Schreiben betrifft?
Ähm. Eigentlich nix.

Was würdest du deinem Hauptcharakter (MC) hinsichtlich der Situation in deiner Geschichte raten?
