How am I confident that DHH did indeed mean to say the ‘19th’ century? Because in the same breath he mentions “steampunk”, which is only a more contemporary fantasy of the same Victorian era the real painting also claims.

This adds nothing of significance to the Omarchy discussion, but I took notice when DHH said of this wallpaper, “I am a man of fine arts and I appreciate a good painting.”
He called it an 18th century painting when he clearly meant the 19th century. But that’s not right either.
It turns out it’s a 20th century painting, but just barely.
It’s “The Backwater” from 1903 by British painter Charles William Wyllie. It’s also, as a rather late example of Romanticism, decidedly not with the times, even in its own time.

That makes sense (and accepting lightning addresses for password resets might have seemed like a reasonable feature, comparable to usernames).
I might suggest a clarification on the official announcement:
“Password request emails also have been requested for lightning addresses which falsely exposed the user's email address”
The phrase “falsely exposed” sounds alarming, but I think you mean that users might “falsely” conclude their email was leaked from Alby, not realizing that their lightning address could have been used to kick off the password reset.
Or am I misreading “falsely exposed” here?

You’re saying that if anyone had tried a password reset with a lightning address (for most of your users, that would be their getalby address), you would send the reset email to the real email address on file? But now you’ve disabled that behavior?
