I work for an automotive supplier and we just had layoffs because our Commercial Vehicle customers greatly reduced their order volumes. So can confirm

Thing is. It actually doesn't preserve consciousness. Human soul is analog. "uploading" to digital doesn't grant eternal life. That's mearly a digital copy, and am imperfect one at that. No digital version of you can completely reimagine you. Just like even the best TV can't perfectly recreate an image, because if you soom in far enough, it still gets pixalated. And there's the risk of errors in the copying process. The "digital consciousness" isn't really you. It's a currupted mimicry. The human soul is a true Mandelbrot Plot. Digital existence is merely a high fidelity image of such Plot. You can zoom in for a awhile, but unlike the real thing, it won't go on forever

The Crisis of the 3rd Century, when the Roman Empire split into 3 regions vying for total control. Or the Late Roman Republic, from the murders of the Gracchus Brothers to Proscriptions under Sulla. Lots of bloody drama

Really? We're going to play the "if we only spent more money earlier, we would have beat Russia" crap? A non-falsifiable, Russell's Teapot argument where he wants to dictate what another countries population is forced to spend money on? WTF do I care who rules over Donetsk and Luhansk? Get this man a copy of "Provoked". I can't with this BS.

First time I've disagreed with Mr. Luongo. His version of events seems pretty cartoonish, which he highlights by starting the whole thing with "this is pretty complex." Personally I subscribe to the Scott Horton view of everything. Would be an interesting conversation between the two of them.

Ok, of all the memes in bitcoin, I hate this one the most. I get what we're trying to convey, that Bitcoin can't be debased. But, mathematically, this makes no sense. It's like when you're doing an algebra problem and get to x=x. If you get that answer, you did something wrong. You can also say 1USD = 1USD. Without context this is also true. Print all the dollars you want, 1USD will still be 1USD, no matter how debased it is. I'm sorry, this meme needs to die

But... It essentially was all but destroyed in the 60s and 70s. It was 2 guys. Mises and Hayek. That was it. Essentially irrelevant. And has been brought back from the edge of extinction. First by Rothbard, and now others since. Growing in the harshest of conditions of constant assault and slander in academia. I'd say it's still in a resurgence phase. It's like you're looking at a Oak sapling and poopooing how it could every be a giant tree. This is probably a multi-generational process. Let it cook

I've had this notion of a decentralized energy grid. Where subdivisions and small communities have their own power supplies instead of a massive grid with so many points of failure. Why can't an apartment complex provide electricity to their tenents instead of relying on a government mandated monopoly supplier?? I will be digging into the particulars on this
