My job? RSS. My side projects? Also RSS.
I built Wild RSS a few months ago to help spot issues in podcast RSS feeds. It's far from complete, but it validates against namespace specs, flags best practice issues, and catches things I've seen break in the wild. Deciding what's a warning vs an error is tricky though - what fails in one app might work just fine in another.

We've massively improved the video experience on Fountain desktop - try it out here: https://fountain.fm/episode/bb3MURtHHVbPFkvvDpTc
This is part of our bigger push to show what open video podcasting can look like. I break it down in a blog post: https://blog.fountain.fm/p/video-podcasts

Apple Podcasts RSS errors are always cryptic. And I'm not sure what "Artist" refers to in this case?
Is there an RSS feed I can look at?

That's correct.
<podcast:publisher> tag was added late, and although RSS Blue now supports it, there are feeds that haven't been refreshed for a long time.
So this (with build date Fri, 03 May 2024 08:48:01 GMT) doesn't have it
https://feeds.rssblue.com/tempered
But this (with build date Fri, 20 Sep 2024 04:40:47 GMT)
has it
https://feeds.rssblue.com/my-crutch-live-from-bands-at-bitcoin
I'll make sure to refresh all feeds.

Haven't used Damus, but a common cause of having spikes in certain apps is due to those apps downloading the audio automatically when the page loads.

For now, I'm doing a lot of this manually because I've been using these mostly for music, and it gets complicated when songs are hosted across several providers.

Do you mean `style` attribute of HTML elements? I think there are CSS features that cannot be replicated using that alone, e.g. media queries.
What if you just embedded the generated CSS inside <style> tag inside <head>?

We'll be testing a livestream on Monday from ~5PM to ~10:30PM central in case anyone would like to tune in.
Like in December, we'll be using an HLS video stream and live wallet switching.
If anyone would like me to add some crazy podcast namespace tag that you'd like to test, let me know 😛

I think I know.
@npub16eg…pr32 try removing fee="true" from the value recipients.
The concept of fees is a total mess, and every app interprets them differently.
In your case, fee splits add up to 100%, which may be causing problems. I've just tested with my own feed, and that does seem to be the issue.

If anyone would like to implement @npub18a6…pny4's <podcast:liveValue> (live changes during livestreams), I've created a stream that automatically changes blocks every minute.
You can find the relevant information here: https://gist.github.com/joksas/1cd95bdfc774bdf97c591d9a14b48f0e
For reference, you can check out CurioCaster (@npub18a6…pny4) and Podcast Guru (@npub1qvx…hseu @npub10lz…tuwr), which have implemented this.
