I've heard that cedar is not good, but not sure why.
What I do is every fall, I collect all the leaves that fall on my property. I either mow them over a few times with the mower or run them through a leaf shredder/blower. I then put them in the large Rubbermaid tubs and then use that as bedding all year round. I do deep bedding, and just layer the shredded leaves on top. this keeps the leaves on my property and makes it so I never have to buy bedding for them, and it makes compost to add back to the garden later.

Rabbits are simple, breed quickly (4 months from impregnation to freezer), take up a small footprint, their waste is amazing for the garden, and they basically taste like chicken breast.

Getting over COVID and finally have the strength to #GSD. Going slow so as not to wipe myself out.
Made a bunch of potting/seed starting soil to transplant my starts and start new seeds. I was taking some dried out Fox Farms Potting soil, adding water to re-hydrate it, crushing Biochar and adding it in (10-20%), and then collecting rabbit manure (20-30%) and mixing that in.
I transplanted all my peppers into 3" pots (for myself) and solo cups (to sell at the street). I'll be starting a small plant/veggie stand this year to offset the cost of purchasing my seeds/supplies.
Starting small with the business goals.

This is my plan too. I've got a few years before I can break free from my 1/2 acre in NJ, but I'm looking to move to a southern State and get some land to start grazing sheep/beef, as well as whatever else I can work into the system.
I'm using my property now as a lab of sorts to practice on mistakes permanent property. Currently raising chickens and rabbits, as well as growing a food forest, and and ever expanding home garden.

Hmm, that's interesting. I always had better results after the first batch...so much so, I would ovten make a starter, then a 3 gallon batch as a large-format starter, just to harvest a large amount of yeast.
I spent years trying to solve the issues I had with beer, and at the time everyone in the homebrew scene was talking about yeast being the second most important thing behind sanitation. Being a Nurse, I am extra careful about sanitation, so that was never the issue. Turns out for me, it was the water that was more important than the yeast.
But before I could figure that out, I spent a few years doing all sorts of different practices regarding yeast, including learning how to plate them out in petri dishes and grow them up from single cells.
Once I turned my attention to water chemistry, everything changed.

What's your goal behind doing that? Unless you're pitching a butt load of yeast, it's just going to delay fermentation start.
If you have healthy yeast, pitch it just a few degrees below goal max ferment temp, and ramp it up. A homebrew batch should be done fermenting in 3-4 days, or you're either pitching too few yeast, poor health yeast, or too cold fermentation temps.
A fast ferment will lead to a cleaner, healthier product.
If you're not saving portions of your yeast cakes, your missing out. It's basically free yeast, and usually in better condition then anything in a package (so long as your sanitary practices are good.)

Here's another example of how the government is evil.
This Amish farmer has developed a Private Buyers Association (think Costco, Sam's Club) for selling his farm products. Without and evidence of complaints from the members, or evidence of any harm, they shut his raw mild program down. It's in court now, and the decisions here will determine if private individuals can purchase standard food products directly from a farmer in the absence of any evidence that the product if harmful.

I've got 3 Silver Fox (2 doe, 1 buck), A Mutt Doe from Polyface Farms, and a cross Buck between the Polyface Doe and a Silver Fox Buck. That's my breeding supply.
Spent the day yesterday cleaning out the "bunny barn" and applying the manure to beds.
I'm almost valuing the manure more then the meat! Sold a few last year as pets. Which helped with feed costs. Thinking of selling manure as well, by the bucket load.

I'm considering converting about 1/3 of our retirement funds over to a BTC ETF with Fidelity.
In general, my thoughts are the money needs to stay within the IRA now, but I'd rather have it in a fund that tracks w/ BTC. Currently just about everything I own in retirement(403b) is in USD backed Mutual funds. (I have a BTC Roth IRA) but can only grow that by the limits allowed each year.
This will diversify my assets somewhat, which I see as a plus, and will tie more of my money to BTC.

I listen to a lot of podcasts, and came across one where the doc being interviewed (topic was carnivore diet I believe) recommended brushing your teeth with raw honey. Being the sceptic that I am, and hating most industrial products, I started to research this crazy concept of brushing with honey. Though I couldn't find much, what I did find was one study that had people rinse with honey.
The concept is that there are a lot of natural antibiotics in raw, unpasteurized honey, and that can help with oral bacteria that leads to cavities. According to the study, in order for tooth enamel to breakdown, the pH of the surface of the teeth needs to drop below 5.5 and remain there for long enough to cause damage. This happens with many forms of grains and sugars, but honey only drops the pH down to 5.0, and it rebounds quicker than other sugars, therefore not causing tooth decay and providing antimicrobial effect.
I've been brushing my teeth now for over 3 months with nothing but honey. I switched from an electric toothbrush to a standard "Reach" brand toothbrush as well, so not a controlled experiment. But, overall I feel my mouth is much cleaner, with less plaque then I can remember between cleanings...now just waiting for my next cleaning and X-rays for data.

Same story here. I'm down 35# in the last year. Not strict Carnivore, but I have a mostly Ketovore diet with room for a few beers a week. It's not ideal, but it's sustainable for me and I'm steadily, slowly dropping weight in a lifestyle that doesn't cause me added irritation because I can't enjoy anything. The way I see it, it took me years to put the weight on, I'm in no poor metabolic condition that would force me to make drastic life changes, so I can take years to drop it in a sustainable way.
I am 6'1", and was 178# when I met my wife in 2007. By September 2021, I had hit 240#. I'm now 205# and steadily moving down every month.
I jumpstarted my weight loss with strict Carnivore due to Jack and Dr. Berry. I lost 30#, then rebounded for the next few months and put 10# back on before I settled on a Ketovore diet +a beer now and then. Like I said, not ideal, but sustainable. Cheers!

Sugar is definitely a hard habit to break. For me, it really helped to understand what sugar does in the body, and how it's not necessarily the sugar that's a problem as much as how our bodies respond to it. Elevated blood sugar leads to elevated insulin levels. It's really the body's response with insulin that causes most of the problems in our system. Granted, insulin is necessary for life, but when levels get high and stay high due to our over-consumption of carbohydrates, that's where significant health problems start, like insulin resistance, obesity, diabetes, heart disease and atherosclerosis, kidney disease, cancer, and a Host of neurological problems.

I don't have issues myself, but have heard from many people that getting raw honey from a local apiary and taking a tablespoon every day significantly improved theyr seasonal allergies.
Also, eating a low Carbohydrate diet can minimize inflammation and reduce signs and symptoms of allergies.

I was reluctant to get this one done, but the hernia was getting worse and didn't want it to advance to serious complications. I waited almost 2 months for our schedules to work out for this one surgeon, only to have his first hernia failure in about 10 years. God works in mysterious ways.

Yeah man, been there for a long time now. Like many of us, I'm not doing a lot of brewing anymore. You can probably find a lot of used equipment for cheap on the second-hand market ... Facebook, Craigslist, etc.
Best tips for beginners...
Dry yeast is amazing, don't get sucked into the liquid yeast until you get a bunch of brews under your belt. Lot more to go wrong with liquid yeast.
Sanitation is most important, everything else could be perfect, but if one step isn't properly sanitized, it could ruin everything.
Just because you think you screwed something up, doesn't mean you did. Some of my best beers were screwups. Keep following the process until it's clear the beer is bad.
Once you understand the process, the numbers don't matter much. Take all your readings when you start to understand the process and what's happening, but I rarely take any readings anymore. I just do the process and the beer is what the beer is. Don't stress the numbers.
Try to find a local homebrew group. They will be the best resources you'll find.
Have fun. Be patient. Read some books.
Move to Kegging as soon as you think you really like the hobby. Filling 1 bottle (Keg) is much better than cleaning/disinfecting/filling 50+ bottles.

I know I can extend the season, I just try to work within my animal's natural biological pathways. If I have excess production in spring and summer, and the means to prolong the harvest, I prefer that route to biohacking their biology.
Not that I wouldn't if needed, just preference. And I have 3-4x as many eggs produced now vs what I need.

I've always had soft teeth. Lots of cavities as a teen. My teens are going through this, and even my 6 year old is has under-developed teeth, poor enamel. I vaguely remember reading something about ground egg shells being beneficial somehow, but can't remember or find what is triggering that memory. It may have been for natural toothpaste or something, just not recalling specifics. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's another quick update on the 1/2 acre homestead. I have a lot of mulch screening to get to! Thoughts and opinions welcome!
I built the chicken tractor (stagecoach) a few years back thinking it would be a daily mover. But the 6 full size chickens were too big to contain n inside the stagecoach, and it was a lot more difficult to move then I thought. Then I got the Premier1 electro net and was moving them weekly, which turned into every other week.
I was also getting arborist wood chips dropped and after wheelbarrowing 3 truck loads to my back yard (and developing a hernia) I had had enough, so I moved the bird to where the load was and figured I'd let them spread it and compost it. I'm kind of treating this like a victory garden. I moved them to a new section, and now I'm going to screen this section to make garden beds. Updates to follow.

Black coffee should be fine. It is typical to have a higher glucose and lower ketones in the early am. I believe it's called "the Dawn Effect".
Intermittent fasting can help you keep the numbers in a great place. We do coffee with some heavy cream in the am (gotta lolive a little), but often don't eat until noon or so.

There is a way. I have "Unchained Capital" as the holder of my Bitcoin IRA. When talking about this with them, you can transfer from a 401K/403B into a Bitcoin retirement account, but if you're still working with the company that your Retirement Fund is with, you'll have to get their permission to move the funds. This is without tax consequences. I was sadly not able to get permission.

Doctors, Like Peter McCullough, we're treating patients with over the counter meds and old, cheap, off-patent drugs which have been safe for decades, and the government elite squashed that in preference of new, untested, and unsafe meds. The GOAL was suppression of effective, safe, cheap meds in favor of Pharmaceutical profits.
There were multiple RTC prior to this pandemic that showed masks don't work to control the spread of viral flu-like diseases. The masks were unnecessary and should have remained optional. There are still many children in my state being forced by their virtue-signalling parents to wear masks in public.
Everything about the treatment of Covid was geared to how profits could be maximized by the Gov and pharmaceutical companies.
My hospital was giving out $100 dollar gift cards to children under the age of 12 just before Christmas at the local mall as part of a grant from the State. This was long after it became clear that the Jab was causing cardiomyopathy in young children.
