Last Notes npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…0hde I’ve asked that question for about a year, always met with blank stares. Same stare we used to get running pandemic scenarios for BCP work npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…3src my jaw got lower and lower with each part npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…3src that’s a really good brief. And I’m sure nothing to worry about that they put the time and effort into it 😬 npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…y4qv Yup. Anyone who thinks this is all “Think of the children!” is naive. But Apple generally don’t share more than necessary. I did try to have a look and it just looks like a flag (probably from a payment method) that would return a ‘yes’. So in my particular case, for now, I’m grand with it. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…y4qv When IOS upgraded it came up with the age verification thing. I just clicked ‘next’ or whatever and it said ‘Ah yeah, you’re grand’ npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…y4qv I dislike seeing ‘You blocked this channel’. Yes, yes I did…so why are you showing me it?!? npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP Mastodon was busy for Eurovision. Like the old Twitter days. People having a shared experience from all over. This is a good platform. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…x759 The Rode is superb. But I use Rode connect on my Mac and a microphone arm. It needs to be close to you and I can manage that without it being seen on camera like some influencer. Have not tried my speakers with it (I use a headset plugged into the microphone) so I must test that. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w I feel that. I remember leaving a budget meeting very late (and a bit pissed off) in the wilds of Bavaria. Couldn’t find anything open and had to rely on a protein bar in my luggage…didn’t help my mood. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…e5sk there must be a site that tracks what he said against what is delivered surely? I would like to refer a lot of people to it npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w @nprofile…eyyt I binned windows so it’ll have to be Linux if I can’t get it working on the Mac. But getting the books downloaded was the critical bit npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…eyyt @nprofile…cl5w using DeDRM on Mac? Because its crashing out for me when going to enter the serial number. Currently filed as a task to do later as I have the books downloaded npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w I’d prefer a handful of bullet points covering the what and the why. Documentation is for background. If someone makes me read documentation without a good reason I’m not going to be happy. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w If there’s a purpose attached to the invite that specifically says why I need to be there - yup. If not, and I don’t know who or why, then I would be doing something else when that takes place. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w Interesting. They’ve been struggling with the weather in Poland so the shipments have been slower npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w Same place? We got the water soluble stuff as well. Same as the vape, instant rather than build up. It’s quite good, pricey but good. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w zero folllowers and no posts? I don’t stress about it, instablock npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…xk9j I’ve had it on every Mac for nearly 18yrs. Not worried 👍🏼 npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…d6h6 I think you’re making the assumption that these kinds of things are being deeply planned out by clever people…that may be your first mistake. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…fle4 I’m running Qwen2.5 7B on my iPhone and Deepseek R1 and Llama 2 7B on my laptop. I have no need to pay for someone’s expensive data centre. My data isn’t going anywhere and this year I’m going to explain that to a lot more people so word gets out - you don’t need these guys. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w We did, love having a chat with them when we go in now. Mango Kush cartridge and he said it would taste familiar…it does. Herself has done a deep dive into what she wants to try next. She had a very stressful Leadership session. One of those where you need a bat to either knock things back or to whack people with. At the break, took a hit and she says it worked wonders. Metaphorically just twirled the bat instead of using it. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w At this stage I’ll be renting a server in Switzerland and rolling my own for a lot of things. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w Yeah guaranteed it was just drone mentality. You know the (generic) C Suite. Not many of them can be approached with ‘What the hell are you smoking?’ by lower levels. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w A daft comment from the CEO about the pick. I think I’ll wait for a Board reaction before going self hosting npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…x759 Ah the crows adore unhooking ours, hurling them to the ground, popping the lid and pulling out the balls. Then the wood pigeons, blackbirds, robin, tits and sparrows have at it. But it is very cold right now so very essential for them. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w ‘The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying’? I read that many years ago and it’s always stuck with me. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w She is very dangerous. I hope 2025 is not an interesting year in Europe npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w She’s not daft. Italians are ‘meh’ about it but it helps her on the world stage and in the EU. Scholz was dithering and no one was listening to Macron (and the UK left the EU) so there was a gap there. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w Yeah they’re running low on a lot, and as it’s not a mass produced thing they can’t just restock easily. Day 3 on their stuff. Seems grand. The recommended brew time is no good for me (3-5mins) but 10mins works okay. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w Same here. I went to that place. Thoroughly lovely people. Gave me a free sample of their oil, but I’ll stick with the tea for now. I’m still in science/testing mode npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w Yup, also sceptical so I’m very ‘Well, shit’ at the moment as nothing else has changed. I feel a little…slower is the wrong word but mind not racing which I think is helping with HRV during sleep. So that’s got a knock on effect to all recovery metrics. One bag in a pot, 20mins soak and two cups around 22:30hrs. Just a random box picked up from H&B. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w I’ve been drinking hemp tea. I was entirely prepared for it being useless, but a positive effect on my HRV that I can’t pin on anything else npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w not what I would have guessed (I’d watch that) npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…cl5w sort of interested in where it ended up, but know better than to ask npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…kam5 I have a 2163 day streak on Duolingo and have been quite happy paying for it until recently. It’s going downhill a bit and so I’ve cancelled my subscription. Moving to Babbel instead who had a good deal on lifetime access npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @nprofile…6h3y @nprofile…eyyt Connected experiences has been around well before copilot or LLMs. It’s for editing suggestions, data insights, translations etc, etc. While folk should be wary - I’m suspecting this is unfounded panic npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1lrv…tth9 Classic Reeder npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1lrv…tth9 land of the free…etc npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1gfd…7gg6 I think what concerns me more - is search regardless of browser is becoming beyond broken. Not even sure a company could start again npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub198t…hasj I was obsessed with that show as a kid. Fun fact: it was the first place I saw Windows being demonstrated. Young me > 🤯 npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1uw8…88kr when in doubt, all of them npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1vcl…k6t3 Oh I may already have a reputation of demanding they show me the benefits against cost, security and sustainability npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1vcl…k6t3 ugh I’m probably looking for a perfect world. You are required to report (so be more open by force) in Europe so I think it’s more about regulation with teeth in the US that will move the dial npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1g0t…tvm4 It would be good if the British understood this more. The same thing when the UK think they have the power to decide if they return to the EU. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1utv…87lr ah man, everything comes to an end. How I felt around that time when it was launched 👇🏼 npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1g0t…tvm4 not bad advice for dealing with privatised water companies, profiteering energy companies and Brexit import issues 🤷♂️ npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1vcl…k6t3 local save for user only though (for now) npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1uw8…88kr 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1lrv…tth9 I thought that, but then I read that the supercharger network is well out of date and not great for the latest cars, so this is likely to hurt Tesla owners more than anyone else. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1psd…9sr7 current thinking not Sunak will call an election the minute a whiff of a serious leadership challenge comes? npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1vcl…k6t3 that’s why I argue that marketing/presentation skills should be on every security teams CPE plan npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1uw8…88kr I had to read that twice with a “Wait, what now?” In the middle npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1c35…9pmh ‘Lies, damn lies and statistics’ is how I like to explain GenAI now npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub17lg…9uux 20yrs ago replace ‘AI and automation’ with ‘Offshore’ npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1lrv…tth9 oh this. The advertising (you want this!) on that platform across the board is really in your face as a personal user npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub17lg…9uux its an awful headline, they’re just moving to Azure. Very true npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP I’m trying #Pixelfed which is the #Fediverse equivalent to Instagram. It’s very like the early Instagram and that’s a really good thing. It feels like people just sharing, and not feeding an algorithm with careful curated posts and photos. I like it. npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1hvd…9sq9 we still haven’t had it. You are not allowed to do whatever you want with peoples data without their consent. You seemed to be okay with this sort of thing even back in 2018 https://daringfireball.net/linked/2018/01/09/ad-tracking-safari “I fail to see how this is a bad thing” npub1gsez92lpl0v7lgavmvr474lrh47scha9f27j2jn98k8setszzv0sm9zfz4 GP @npub1eee…e209 not true John, it’s Metas choice not to launch because they don’t want to comply with DSA/DMA
