Comparing this to gun laws isnt exactly reasonable, as even the 2nd amendment from which those are argued, did not exist yet.
So the broadest explanation is that unhealthy habit in the U.S. to take their constitution as eternal perfection that never can be improved upon and that the authors were not only always and for eternity right, but also infallible in creating a republic government on first attempt.

Im right in the middle of those two with a K702, I guess. Though for background music I prefer a Sony WH1000xm.
The sharp trembles of the AKG are great for dedicated listening, but for long sessions the mellow Sony is -- while not HiFi -- more comfortable (also ANC).
