a combination of these two situations is a really tough thing to solve without making assumptions about device context and user demographics. but i‘m just trying to reverse-engineer the conditions from the „solution“ by my own assumptions…
out of interest: what would be your preferred solution here? i can totally imagine situations where blank/fail states for apps alone (see safari) and one-off indication on dynamic island doesn’t do justice to the situation at hand. and: it isn’t showing in airplane mode, right? (2/2)

hm, now i get it. annyoing indeed. i can only guess why ios is reacting the way it does…
a) a loss in data connection might range from a very short period of time to several hours and might happen repeatedly or be ongoing (travelling by train in germany while trying to work is loads of fun). signal popping back up does not guarantee it‘s still there two seconds later. while annoying the message is accurately reflecting the device state in these cases.
b) it could be an indication directed towards non tech-savvy/elderly users that might need a reminder why some key functionality isn‘t working as intended (visited my auntie the other week and witnessed some mind-blowing tech struggle first-hand). (1/2)

inside this given context (browsing but not connected) it seems like a decent feedback. what is it you expect? is it also showing outside of safari? seems like a far stretch to indicate it as view blocking as it‘s restricted to dynamic island… maybe it‘s just me.
