*Golden Shores* The second single from my forthcoming new album *Paradise Variations* emerges today. One might imagine recording in the tropics as a blissful, hammock-swaying affair—nonsense. In reality: power failures, out of tune instruments, chainsaws dueling with howler monkeys, and digital equipment gasping for life. Yet we persist—because what else is there? Art is the struggle to wrest meaning from chaos.

Henry Miller had Big Sur. Paul Bowles had Tangier. Keith Richards had Jamaica. Orwell wrote in Burma. Graham Greene wandered through Haiti. Gauguin lost himself in Polynesia. Hemingway drank his way through Cuba. This is a window into my story.

I moved to Central America to live, to make music, to get lost in my work, to be surrounded by people whom I love and don’t give a damn about algorithms or branding or whatever today’s existential crisis is.

All due credit and reverence to the wildly talented Argentinian filmmaker Tessa Donchula , who directed and edited this thing of beauty. Nothing staged. No gimmicks. No influencer nonsense. Just the real, everyday rhythms of my life here.

Imagine a decentralized, crypto-centric music streaming platform built on Nostr where artists are directly supported by their listeners. The average listener generates 1,000 streams a month—roughly 100 minutes of listening per day. If each listener contributed 9.5 satoshis per stream around 0.01 ( $10 a month), that could change the game.
On Spotify, I average 100,000 streams a month, which at the current royalty rate of $0.0026 per stream only nets me around $260 a month. With Nostr, 100k streams at a penny (9.5 Sats) per stream would be $1,000 a month! No middlemen, more control over the music, and significantly better compensation for creators. This is the future we need—where artists are empowered to thrive.

Revolutionary idea? 💡
We need a #nostr #music streaming service.
A music streaming platform built on Nostr could offer musicians and artists the kind of direct, decentralized control that has been missing from current systems. It could revolutionize how creators monetize their work, engage with audiences, and retain ownership.

It’s incredible how Bitcoin has created such a unique network of people, transcending traditional boundaries of geography, culture, and belief. It’s a digital currency that, for many, isn’t just about value—it’s about shared principles and an evolving sense of connection. Truly a modern wonder. #btc

The future of social media must be decentralized. Nostr is an open protocol—censorship-resistant, permissionless, and immune to corporate control. No algorithms warping discourse, no single point of failure. Just direct, peer-to-peer communication. A glimpse of what the internet was meant to be.

Our dear friend Marcos Guíu Navarro, the heart of Taco Corner in Santa Teresa, urgently needs our help. After suffering a ruptured stomach ulcer that led to sepsis and multiple surgeries, he’s fighting to recover in the ICU. His family is by his side, but the financial burden is heavy. Let’s come together for Marcos. Please donate & share!

Thanks to my brother @npub1m0f…ryg8 , I’ve been on Primal for a day and am already evangelizing it’s virtues to friends in the arts. A platform with sane incentives feels like a revelation compared to the trainwreck of modern social media.
Voltaire said: “It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere.” Perhaps Primal is a step toward liberation.

I am Kyle. I live at the edge of a jungle in a Central American beach town, where the hours are squandered—productively—between books, words, and the sea. I write songs, both for myself and other artists, and record music that is neither commercially acceptable nor culturally obliging. Pleased to be here.

My new single: ‘Dreams of Ours’ is a reminder: beauty and pain are inseparable, chaos can be art, and love is real. Midnight highway music for anyone who’s loved, lost, and lived hard enough to know the difference.
