there is no way to use AI without contributing to mass unemployment in a world where universal basic income is not available

the same is true with AI.
at the end of the day, it's [just] a technology / tool, right? "in theory" it can be anything. maybe some people find it helpful: for boring tasks, for accessibility, for all sorts. in theory, when combined with the right political climate, it could free up some of our time so that we can spend more time doing what we love
but in reality, that's not the case. instead, we're currently stuck with a set of carbon + water guzzling psychopathic megacorps fucking us up

same with milk and cheese. "in theory" it doesn't result in animals getting killed. in reality, it does. there is no dairy milk or cheese you can buy that doesn't involve slaughter.

"in theory" a lot of bad things could be good.
Like animal products. "in theory" eating eggs could mean no animals get harmed. for example, if you had your own chickens at home, and they just happened to lay eggs, it would be morally much more justifiable to eat them than the ones you get from factory farms where all male chicks get killed on day one.
in reality, there is no egg you can buy that doesn't involve killing animals. "in theory" means shit all
