So funny to me that this random quote, which I didn't even bother to tag, got 873 favorites and 407 boosts, an order of magnitude more than anything else I've posted here.

The tabletop role-playing game Planet of the Week is my homage to shows like Star Trek, Firefly, and Stargate: Atlantis. With art lovingly curated from 1950s science-fiction magazine covers.

Cashier: *to my son* Come with me.
Stylist: *to me* Come on, daddy-o.
Me: You bringing back beatnik slang?
Stylist: What now?
Me: You sound like Maynard J. Krebs from Dobie Gillis.
Stylist: What? I just like the sound of "daddy-o."
Me: It was an old show with Bob Denver. He played Gilligan in Gilligan’s Island.
Stylist: I’ve seen an episode of that. I like the guy in the funny white hat, whichever one he was. What kind of cut do you want?
Me: Something that will look good when I'm in my casket.

In 1991, I found this game so engrossing that I stayed up all night playing it then had to go to work the next day not having slept. #retrocomputing #retrogaming
