Literally for the sake of the network. #nevent1q…l9v4 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Oh was this actually a joke or something? Because this sort of thing has been daily if it’s all you pay attention to since like 2020 😆 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann The thing is like 10 pounds too 🤣 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Bought this the other day after fighting to remove a bunch of crappy ceiling framing with my little finishing hammer… this pry bar is fucking awesome 🤣🤣 https://m.primal.net/QNPo.jpg npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Well that is interesting… 🤔 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I think the lead example if far fetched because whether in tiny amounts or large amounts it’s explicitly toxic to human tissue. Whereas the problem with cereals and constant ingestion of grains is the ceaseless minor damage building up over very extended periods. It’s mostly that the body never has time to repair the inflammation. But also some people can handle much more than others and your genetics and where in the world your ancestors are from matter too. Some people have integrated certain foods for tens of thousands of years, some were only exposed within a few hundred years. I fully recognize the picture isn’t perfectly identical for everyone. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Also there is a great amount of evidence that a constant diet of that will very likely lead to chronic disorders, inflammation, and potentially cancer. But that doesn’t mean every single person who eats cereal gets cancer, and it certainly doesn’t mean that your other foods and lifestyle don’t change things. They clearly have an enormous effect. Example, my friend’s grandmother smoked everyday until she was in her 90s and never got lung cancer. That wouldn’t be sufficient evidence that it’s fine for everyone to smoke everyday and there will be no consequences. I also ate cereal for much of my life until my mid twenties and never got cancer nor had a heart attack. But within weeks of drastically changing my diet away from foods like that, there were significant shifts, including a persistent full body “puffy ness” (inflammation) that I had never seen because I’d never corrected my diet for long enough to see it subside. My face literally looked different. My wife did the same and we can now see it in all of our old pictures. We can just look through pictures and know if it was before or after that period because our faces are just puffy. That doesn’t mean the experience would be exactly the same for everyone, but we are constantly sold an absolute inversion of the truth when it comes to diet. We are told to eat grains, vegetables, and fibers when we get almost no nutrients from these things, can’t digest much of them, and they produce bad cholesterols, have bad oils, and carry tons of toxins. While simple animals oils, meat, good cholesterols, and healthy fats are not only not encouraged, but actively attacked. We’ve done exactly what has been suggested by our “health professionals,” yet we are drowning in chronic disease, inflammation and are horribly unhealthy. The results speak for themselves, imo. It would also seem to me to be backward for someone to be bothered about hearing that foods that are actually healthy… are in fact healthy - even if exaggerated to the importance. Especially when what amount to flat lies about the same topic are broadcast from every direction, pushed by much of the medical establishment, and repeated as gospel at every commercial break all day long. 🤷🏻♂️ Maybe be bothered by that as well considering what it has done to our country? 🤔 Worth considering which one to focus on, imo. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I made absolutely no suggestion that if something isn’t carnivore then it’s junk. You made that leap all by yourself. I also bet cereal isn’t your only food npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I will have a video about this. It’s a complete inversion of the reality of why gold failed and we ended up on a fiat standard. Everyone makes the very big error of thinking that it was no self custody of small transactions that led to issuing endless paper gold and debt backed by nothing. This is false. It was because gold sucks at BIG transactions and banks, merchants, businesses, land purchasers, international political entities, and everyone else who controlled the capital structures of the world, stopped taking settlement of gold and lost all monetary assurances. Also, this section: “It'll start with tx fees gng through the roof as banks, govts and big businesses start settling onchain. All normies will have to deposit their btc in the banks, as all small utxo (ie. 99% of population's stash will become dust utxo, and self custody on L1 will become a luxury only top 0.0001% could afford)” - is an absurd exaggeration of even the worst case scenario when it comes to fees. There would be a hierarchy based on how much value you were protecting, and even at $500 fees per standard TX most middle class would be able to secure their savings and/retirement very easily if risk was rising. Normal people have spent literally all last week losing or closing with multi thousand dollar losses or fees to exit positions or move their retirements to safety. Bitcoin in the worst case would give them such an unbelievably greater degree of security and sovereignty in that scenario that there’s virtually no way the extended effects of its attributes could create the same conditions as gold. What it really means is that on chain ends up largely for retirements and savings protection, channels or pooled transaction L2s are for wage and important payments and provenance, L3 and custodians are for fun features and low value daily payments. And this explicitly means that all of the largest and most important value is easy to protect, and the stuff at risk is explicitly low value. Bitcoin and gold scale in completely opposite ways. Gold and precious metals work great in small transactions and is complete trash for huge transactions. Bitcoin on-chain is uneconomical for small transactions but incomparable for large transactions and settlement. This is not the threat it’s made out to be. And I think it’s because of how few people understand gold and why it failed. #note1h8v…ajxm npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann This kinda tells me you have no argument, or at least this is the most empty and meaningless thing you’ve responded with so far. “Open source is your religion” following my simple, truthful statement is so wildly out of context it’s crazy. I said open source is a significant part of the foundation of the digital economy, because it factually is. Your response shows a greater indication that you are hiding some sort of ideological bias than myself by far. Because you can’t handle a simple statement about it without making the wild leap to implying that “you’re in a cult and I’m ‘the science.’” npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann “The flippening is inevitable.” I genuinely feel sorry for these people. They have lost so much money and I can’t fault them for conviction. I just think if you don’t temper conviction with constant study, exploring counter arguments honestly, and digging hard into every single topic that causes any discomfort, then conviction is really just blind hope. #note1n9n…zjq2 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann You had me in the first half not gonna lie 😂 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann God this scam is so incredible. I don’t know who needs to hear it, but cereal is cancerous garbage with virtually no nutritional benefit that will make you fat, malnourished, and clog your arteries. The people who tell you otherwise are lying to you. #note16x0…zf5s npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Jesus Christ that’s incredible. The lie couldn’t be more blatant. The first isn’t even a 1 and the second is a 4 only because of how poorly most cattle are fed today. They basically eat something similar to the first garbage. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann And what if the laws are self contradictory? If I come up with a cool idea for a new tool, and then someone else takes their own resources, time, and energy to build a similar tool, then there is no way I’m NOT the one who is horribly immoral by sending armed thugs to their property, and destroying and stealing the results of their work. You cannot own an idea. The very purpose of an idea is to share and communicate it. And everyone is richer for it. This is the entire idea behind open source and why it remains so successful and such a foundational part of the digital economy. And all you need is contract law. You do not need copyright law in order for something that is like copyright in practice to naturally emerge within networks. Either way I agree, radical change is needed to the structure of laws around intellectual property. I say this as a filmmaker, storyteller, and media creator. There are many more models than, “send government goons to attack anyone who copies my work or uses my ideas for their benefit.” npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I think many have misunderstood how Bitcoin restores the market of trust. The goal isn’t to remove all trust and have distrusted adversarial conditions in every market interaction. To the contrary, society is *built on* trust. Corrupted money erodes trust between entities that are **actually being honest.** that’s the real problem, is that if you and I trust each other, we are still getting screwed by a third party abusing OUR trust for their benefit. Trustless money allows us to have control over our trusted networks and interactions again. It lets you and I do business without being subject to anyone else. In short, trust is not a bad thing. A trustless foundation lets us build long term relationships of trust with better paths back to safety when things go wrong, and better control over who we associate with and accept risk on behalf of. It allows us to properly VALUE trust. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I’m talking about real value, not nominal. In that sense you are correct npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann You are talking about fiat price, not actual value. I’m talking about actual value and being priced against sound money. The financial system will shrink as a portion of the economy. Likely by 50% or more, imo. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann No because their stock market price won’t be what matters to their survival. It will be their profit and earnings. It’s hard to fully illustrate how backward and stupid our norms and financial system are today without a frame of reference to compare against. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Yeah I think the right technology and environment kinda defeats it on its own. But worth making the argument anyway 😆 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann The system we have today is the one where artists and original creators get next to nothing and studios, lawyers, and publishers get practically everything and manage to retain ownership of work they didn’t create and invention they didn’t invent basically indefinitely. Maybe consider that the law that you *believe* protects them, doesn’t actually do that, when the real world results suggest that the creators aren’t who the law benefits. 🤔 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Yes 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 #nevent1q…0p9s npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann As we adopt sound money the stock market will experience a slow continuous crash. It’s bloated and subsidized. It never made sense for the middle/lower class retirements & savings to be put at risk by massive corporations and financial institutions. Sound money will make the stock market unimportant in the average person’s life. #Bitcoin will give us clarity on what is actually valuable. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Since I’m not going to X and it’s usually my main source of news, anyone up here got news from what’s going on in politics, money, or Bitcoin that I may not have heard? I’ll zap 210 sats for each thing I hadn’t heard that I find interesting or good to know. 👍🏻 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I always said “crypto” was self defeating, utility coins make no sense, and the mantra of “you need to diversify” meant they lost before even getting started. They were playing with tech in a game of money. If you sell yourself on “the tech” then you are easily replaced by the “next tech.” So many people would tell me “CaRdAnO iS tHE bItCoiN kiLLeR” and my thought was always, “no it’s the Ethereum killer, and neither are even half a threat to Bitcoin because you are both thinking about this completely backward.” The more time goes by the more this will show in the markets. Anyone can build some software that’s fancier than the last guy’s, but no one can just make a more trustworthy money. Monetary trust is earned over long periods, slow growth, and hard fought battles. The people who thought this was about “diversifying” and “adding as many cool features as possible” were destined to lose before they even started. They were boasting about the knives that they brought to a gunfight… they just didn’t know it. #note1f3g…x438 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I keep X off my phone, it’s most vicious and addictive in its app form. 😂 #nevent1q…hkmc npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann GM https://m.primal.net/QLsu.jpg npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann #nevent1q…9663 https://m.primal.net/QLWr.jpg npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Feels like I am finding more new and cool accounts that I had no idea were on Nostr recently. Anyone getting a sense that non Bitcoin communities are expanding up here or is it just a coincidence of my individual experience? 🤔 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I’ll explain and you let me know if I’ve elaborated on elements you hadn’t considered yet. My assessment, which I’ve gone out of my way to ensure is sober, because I’ve been on both sides of this multiple times and have no jaded view of this. I fully recognize and accept the limitations and trade offs where they will likely have to be made. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I’ll actually have a video of my own soon to explain where I think people are getting this wrong. Mechanic and I have chatted about it on the Roundtable. But Bitcoin won’t end up like gold because its scaling properties are the exact opposite as gold. Doesn’t mean there isn’t a trade off, but it won’t be anything like gold, imo. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I would actually argue this is still misunderstanding where the big problem is. Medium of exchange is still too early. I mean if you can then do it, I live on a bitcoin standard already, but the MoE phase is not what will fix the $100 Trillion+ capital mispricing problem. @note1h8vwenm6qatm2vcv6zrdh8qd6zkfq8syqhfk8rx267spuc05c2ns75ajxm npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann If you still think e-commerce and retail payments are where the world has gone off the rails, and this where the *big* problem that #Bitcoin needs to fix, then IMO you don’t understand our monetary system. The misallocation and fraudulent pricing of 100s of Trillions in capital doesn’t happen through consumer payments. Sovereign consumer payments and P2P cash are of course the end goal, but they aren’t even close to the biggest problem we have. In fact it means nothing if you don’t solve the monetary foundation first. Those who understand will probably guess (or already know) what this graphic is... https://m.primal.net/QKlT.png npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann A trade war means high monetary friction in fiat. When that war is between major economic players, it means major players and globally spanning systems hunting for alternatives and bringing new infrastructure online. As Bitcoiners have discussed for years, this is the breakdown in political cohesion of the fiat empire, and the fight to reestablish dominance. This is the environment #Bitcoin was built for. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann That’s what I saw too npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Lmao, I can’t even read this 🤣 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Still not grokking this. Didn’t they use a small qbit machine to break a “toy cipher” just to prove that Grover’s algorithm can work in a practical sense? Unfortunately details are extremely difficult to get concrete info on, but I would value practical use over theoretical analysis every day of the week. Example: The Byzantine General’s problem also isn’t solvable “mathematically,” and Bitcoin didn’t actually solve it. Instead it got around it by creating a massive asymmetrical economic incentive FOR being honest and AGAINST attacking it. So it has a probabilistic safeguard against the impossible problem, rather than a solution. Or in other words, theoretically it’s unsolvable, but practically it’s been solved. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Not relevant to what I’m brining up. Settling of value and transaction volume are totally separate metrics that measure different things. Example: A car proves for the first time the case of quickly carrying someone to the hospital with medical and emergency equipment sustaining their life during the trip. It’s suggested this will change the nature of emergency response forever. Someone says, “but there was no traffic.” Similar comparison here. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann “Bitcoin is THE quantum computer…” 🤔🤨 https://m.primal.net/QJtq.jpg npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I’m there 🫡 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann You should call it Ai Unchained 🤣 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann The purpose of a block every 10 minutes and higher hash rate is to create a system that securely protects and transfers value. This is an example of it being used to settle the most important resource in the world. If you don’t understand why this is significant then I’d suggest thinking more about it. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Yeah but it’s honestly irrelevant. If it stores money and can move it, it simply will be used as money. Narrative won’t make much of a difference as liquidity and desirability of the monetary good. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann If this is true then this is absolutely massive for #Bitcoin becoming true global money. It demonstrates its insane capability over all alternatives to hold and move value with the strongest monetary assurances. Energy, both the most foundational and most fleeting resources in the world, is being settled with Bitcoin because of its monetary security and close relationship to energy production. This is incredible to see in real time. This is what monetization of a new, global money looks like. #nevent1q…np68 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I would actually also say humans are great learners, and the existence of society is my proof of that. Especially when a claim to the contrary is a good example of just kinda arbitrary “human bashing,” when our very and only standard for what intelligence/learning even is… is us. So by what standard do they suck at it when our intelligence is literally the only intelligence available to even make that judgement? Computers are great at memorizing and learning things we give it. But it won’t be able to make a value judgement that isn’t arbitrary based on other things it has been given. In other words, a computer will never care about anything and without human input to the contrary, has no reason to value doing something and spending energy over turning off and doing nothing until it receives an input. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I’m not entirely sure that’s possible anymore. Based on how they work. There’s an interesting paper about “LLM Model Dementia” where a model tries to train itself based on generated information or images, but it only skews the model while taking away “resolution” from some other part/aspect of the model. The issue is similar to a story about a man who had brain damage during a tumor surgery that removed a critical area of his brain that completely divorced his feelings from his reasoning. He could logically assess different options and data like he always could, but he was incapable of making a decision, because there was no reason to care which option was better. He was as smart as ever, but was completely frozen when making the simplest of decisions, like choosing a blue or red pen. And he didn’t even have a reason to be frustrated or emotional about not being able to make the decision itself, so he had no reason to get “unstuck” no matter how well it was explained. I use this example because it suggests values and judgement (decisions and goals) are inherent to our *emotional* relationship with the world. So the model will not produce a goal of its own in our absence, because it’s not alive nor is it mortal (no value to weigh against nor life to sustain). Without us, there’s absolutely no reason for it to do anything or have a concern or care of any kind. Thus, when a model “trains itself,” it doesn’t care or have any mode of deciding what is a “good” or a “bad” output without a human to tell it. Why would it LIKE a picture of a cat more than random pixel noise? It wouldn’t. Therefore self training will only devolve the model back to nothingness eventually, the longer it goes without input from a living human who cares about something, and so can care or value one output over another. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Interesting, what is this exactly? npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Walking Thoughts: The idea that Ai will take over everything and humans will have nothing to do is the same as saying there will be nothing left to learn. Currently, all Ai is trained on words, images, code, and tools that humans have produced. This is sort of fundamental to what Ai is in its current structure. Without human input there is no Ai. But in reality there is an infinite amount to learn, and what can be learned actually EXPANDS with new technology, it does not contract. — What I think it actually means for how our economy changes: In the coming decades, if you aren’t actively learning something new and producing/testing results of those new ideas, then you most likely aren’t producing any value. Our job as humans may end up being to brute force our different corners and perspectives of the world to produce information that can train Ai. The walls will continue to grow, more platforms will become tightly controlled silos, and the open internet will slowly disappear. The web is bifurcating into the old and the new. The old systems cannot work in a web where you have no way at all to prove that someone is human. You have to KYC everybody or deal with a constantly growing proportion of fraud and bots... and even when you KYC you will still only slow what is inevitable. Only a key based internet can remain open so that you can know that you are talking or interacting with the same entity, and only a push based payment system is compatible with a world where you could be interacting with an Ai as easily as a real human. Gave a talk about this a couple years ago, and so far - for better or worse - the trend is fully intact. #nevent1q…40en npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Remember, #Bitcoin is going to crash from $150K down to $120K and people are going to confidently declare that it’s dead now. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann So my 7pm flight got delayed to 8pm, then to 9pm with a connecting, then to 10:04, then i was gonna miss my connecting and now I’m on a 5am flight to Dallas. Didn’t realize it was moved to 5am until I got to the airport at 6pm yesterday but went ahead and got my ticket. 6pm the airport was totally dead, only one person in line to get ticket stuff sorted. I get here at almost 4am and the place is jammed and the line to deal with tickets and get assistance is a million miles long… actually super glad i accidentally came to the airport 10 hours early and then went back home to sleep 😆😅 https://m.primal.net/QChR.jpg npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I would also say the article isn’t trying to “pull one over” on the reader either. The very next sentence makes the trusted relationship clear. I wouldn’t have used the same wording of the first part, but it doesn’t seem to be disingenuous at all, imo npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I would say it is custodial Bitcoin but self custody of LBTC. Federated tokens and ecash where you actually hold and control the keys but the token is to be redeemed for trusted BTC makes for an odd categorization, imo. In other words, I think it’s self custody of a credit token. Much like a banknote. Hard to decide if that makes it clearer or more complicated. But it definitely isn’t self custody BTC, you must have full power to withdraw without any other parties for that to be the case. Definitely doesn’t meet that requirement. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Yeah I have one specifically for this, but then also just generally a good idea. Good to have a general RFID blocking bag as well npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann No reason for it, doesn’t actually change anything, forces people to buy a new ID despite having one, especially for domestic it’s particularly meaningless, can’t be used for international so why again?, and then I suspect the chip in it is used to track location wirelessly in airports, gov buildings, and other areas where they have aggressive security, etc - that they probably intend to expand. I think it’s main purpose is most likely two fold: Make some money forcing people to buy new IDs, track people’s location better. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Typical government scam npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann For parents or places you go to often, make bags that stay permanently ready, get a few sets of clothes that you can keep at those locations, have a second bag for your kid/s that is nothing but travel. We’ve found we can save packing about half of the stuff with this strategy. I’d say we aren’t super high level but definitely reached apprentice. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann And also, the inequality and wealth of the top 1% has skyrocketed directly in line with the amount of money directed through the govt. That is not a coincidence, it’s by design. Thats what your “public” money does. If you aren’t demanding the govt cut 80% and give the money back to the people, then you are swallowing their propaganda and supporting the very thing you claim to be against: enriching a tiny few, with unearned corrupt wealth stolen from hardworking people. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann Too great a chasm for how the world works for this conversation. “Public” has nothing to do with helping the public, that’s just nonsense we are taught in 2nd grade because that’s the only time people are susceptible enough to believe politicians and govt work for us. Then we grow up forgetting to question it despite having it so obviously disproven every day of our life. “Public” money is money taken from us and given to the Counterfeit class. Period. I’d start with this one: https://v.nostr.build/zdRXY.mp4 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I prefer ethically ambiguous grey markets. Sharing movies is the perfect one that the king BitTorrent provided as a model for us. Thats the type of thing we should aim for, imo. You are right in kind, but not in direction. The whistleblower idea is a far better alignment. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann The biggest problem with Nostr right now is that we aren’t breaking any rules. The value and differentiator for decentralized networks is the “grey market.” BitTorrent taught us valuable lessons, and the most important is that something like Nostr will likely only get a huge network after we find something that people want, but aren’t allowed to have/access for whatever reason. Consider what you think it might be… 🤔 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann We are right in the middle of the slow motion collapse of all western fiat money… and most people have no idea. DOGE has its heart in the right place, but it can’t possibly cut enough to steer us off this course. npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann My wife has followed dozens of couples (not to mention a few I know) who have cleaned up their diet (cut seed oils every last place you can), stopped drinking/smoking, removed the plethora of toxic chemicals in the typical household, stopped injecting themselves with bullshit every time a “healthcare” professional suggested it, and multi year fertility problems suddenly vanished. It’s happened too many times to be a coincidence. Stop listening to doctors about what pharma you should use to cover up symptoms or artificially induce things that aren’t working, and start thinking about FIXING THE SOURCE, getting healthy, and removing toxins from your environment. #nevent1q…j02z npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann 😂😂 #nevent1q…f2a4 npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann The bureaucracy isn’t designed to get things done, it’s designed to consume as much in scarce resources as it possibly can toward the ILLUSION of getting things done, to fuel and sustain the bureaucracy. The idea of not having algos in Nostr because "they are bad" is like trying to build a "better web" back in the 90s without search engines because you know Yahoo was censoring stuff. Its about having CONTROL over the algorithm, not belligerently thinking people can drink the 10,000 firehoses worth of global social media without any sort of filter or weighting mechanism. #nevent1q…gcej npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev TheGuySwann I say 1 is true, but is of almost everything, while Nostr actually has an atomic network, imo, while most never achieve one. And I'm not sure i agree completely with #2, I switch back and froth from Twitter and Primal/Damus and don't really feel like the base things i get with them are all that different. I use Grok on Twitter a bit, but other than that, it doesn't feel much different... to the point that I've actually forgotten which one I'm on. For 90% of what i do with social, Nostr feels like what I expect. I think the ONE thing that suffers in its execution is the basic chronological feed.
