Many posts identify the problems, making it straightforward (if time consuming) to test. My suggestion is to try and then share what you find (as comments on existing posts, your own post, bug reports, etc). Not terribly helpful, but it’s the approach I take

I’ve still not made a demo for CSS inert, partly because I’m trying to grok the nuance. But I’m following the issue.
A CSS inert property is risky and the use cases are shaky (IMO).

The takeaway should be DO NOT use sites like YayText•com to make fake bold or italic text (whether on Bluesky, LinkedIn, etc.).

There are good people at Deque that do damn good work. But Deque is a corporation that has a product it regularly over-sells with bold promises. I have been critical of it for years. So there are people at Deque I will trust, but I will not trust Deque.

I missed this because I have styles that hide toots with buff-ly links, but I saw your self-reply.
Anyway, this construct gets the red outline and ‘BAD’ text, but there is content there for users (when CSS loads):
