a few years ago I visited a fire service museum in Birmingham, and they had a collection of postcards that had been sent to summon the fire brigade to a fire! Inconceivable today, but in Victorian times the royal mail was sometimes the fastest way to communicate across the city. So many things we've lost since that era.

being productive not the same as feeling productive has always been the case. I remember old studies about mouse vs keyboard with the same result.
