Last Notes npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero It's been some time since my last technical blog post, so I thought I'd write a new one on some of my efforts to integrate #QUIC, #RoQ and (partly) #MoQ in the Janus #WebRTC server. It's mostly experimental, but it could be a useful testbed for a future and deeper integration. Feedback welcome! npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…ynd9 I do like writing blogs, but only when I have something I'm excited to talk about: when that happens, I end up being WAY too verbose every single time 🤣 I'd argue that you don't need your website and blog to be a single thing, though: nothing wrong in having a website, that can point to a different blog instance that you may or may not have (that's what I did for my own personal spaces) npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…ynd9 10 years and still not used to it 😅 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…ynd9 I wish I could have seen it in person, but I'm one of the poor sods waiting outside because you all woke up way too early to fill that room 😂 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…ynd9 👏🏼 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…ynd9 my sister sent me pictures from Amerongen of her garden covered by snow, this morning, but she seemed happy about it 😂 I think she just lost her Italian passport rights npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…46aj @nprofile…jjs5 do you know if that applies to the express train from the airport to the center too? npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero My humble attempt to play "Waiting for 22" by Queensrÿche, from that masterpiece called "Operation Mindcrime". I've always loved that luscious arpeggio and the intertwined guitars... but you don't want to know how many takes I had to record to get it (mostly) right 😁 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…dfpj I gifted my 1-year old niece a tiny red wooden piano with 25 keys, that she had a lot of fun tinkering with these past few days ❤️ npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero Dear Fediverse, I recently acquired a second-hand #guitar that I had "love at first sight" for as soon as I saw it online. It really is lovely to play, but I know very little about it, though, except that it's from a now defunct brand called #Dreambow. I can't find any other name or serial. Do you know what model it might be, and/or year? It definitely is a single cut, but it's not a Les Paul replica as you can see in the picture. Please help me boost this until it reaches someone who knows 😅 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…dcm7 for long flights, I personally prefer a window seat on the left side (like the one you highlighted). I have trouble sleeping on planes, and that's the closest you can get to laying down against something. I rarely move during flights so I don't care mind the window seat. npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…dfpj @nprofile…agq6 😁 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…dfpj @nprofile…agq6 this is probably where I should boast that I have my PS3 copy signed by Tim Schafer himself, when I visited Double Fine and gifted him limoncello 😅 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…dfpj @nprofile…agq6 yep, that's what intrigues me the most, especially considering I really have a lot of games I bought on a sale and could never play because I don't have a gaming PC. Or all the games I played elsewhere but can't anymore, but could with a Steam Machine (I'm looking at you, Brütal Legend! ❤️ ) npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…agq6 @nprofile…dfpj yeah, I've seen some websites try and do that. Hopefully it won't be too expensive... as a lazy player that's gotten used to play stuff on the TV while slouching on the couch it would be an amazing opportunity to give new life to the ton of games I bought on Steam and never played, but I'm not going to let them bleed me dry to get it 😁 I paid way too much for the PS5 already... npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…dfpj @nprofile…agq6 how much will it cost then? To be honest I'm not going to watch 2h of interview just for that answer 😁 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero Hey all, npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…dcm7 in situations like this, I always lean towards prudence, so the 8am train. Yes, you may be stuck in your hotel room for a while, but isn't it better than having to run/rush, travel sweaty/flustered, and possibly miss the time you have to get there entirely? npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…dcm7 wow, I thought that homes in my area were absurdly priced because of how touristic it is, but apparently in the NL they're pretty much there too! For square footage they even seem a bit more expensive than here npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero Welcome home, darling! #guitar npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…cee8 if you weren't that far up north I would have sworn you were on the Circumvesuviana, the train we have here that connects Sorrento and Naples and that has been voted, more than once, like the worse train line Italy for many years in a row 😁 Departing and not knowing when/if you'd arrive was pretty common npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero Not sure if this will be of interest to anybody, but I talked a bit about the whole process I followed to automate my live performance a couple of days ago. A bit of a long read but some may find it interesting! If you do read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts 🙏 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero Aaaahhh is it the 10th of August already? 😱 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…843t "Invisible man with blue crocs jumps next to man in beautiful scenery" 😁 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero It took some time, but it's finally ready... I've just published my new full album, "R U There?" and I'm really looking forward to what you'll all think about it! npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero Can't wait to get back home to start reading the long awaited book by my friend David Duffett! I've been looking forward to this book since the first time he teased about it in presentations he made in the past, all of which had a ton of great content I myself borrowed from for my own talks. npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…7s4z Fosstodon has been my home for quite some time, and the place that made me love Mastodon, so even if it may not matter much, please do know that someone here in the South of Italy greatly appreciated what you gave us all, and will forever be grateful you welcomed us in your home. Thanks for being such great hosts! npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…gqlq Harley Benton really knows how to make beautiful looking guitars! npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero I know, this is getting ridiculous... npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…7s4z I learnt the meaning of that acronym: using the TIL acronym to say I learnt a new acronym was a bit of a silly (and probably too obscure) pun 🙂 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @nprofile…7s4z PEBKAC = Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair (to let people know you were the cause of whatever problem was happening) npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero TIL: PEBKAC npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero Oh, with everything that's happened at Bandcamp in the past few months, I didn't know this was still a thing... It's #BandCampFriday ! Which means that every purchase you do goes 100% to the artists, no commission. npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @npub10cs…5prq I feel the list to be quite incomplete without even a mention of open source options: what's more free than that? npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero I'm proud to announce I'll represent the groovy country of "Deeppurpland" at the upcoming #fedivision2024, which starts tomorrow! npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @npub1p45…89jz that's great news! But did they provide any info on what caused this to happen in the first place? npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @npub1keg…djeq I can send you a ton of 70's prog suggestions, would that count as help? 😂 npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero @npub1nvp…agzg 5k is really not that big of a deal (there were people with strollers and dogs too) but I only started running again last month, and really couldn't do anything more than that... npub1htwcfad8vl7a4d3ch5pj5zu3va6jjwl2a7fmhcsnmjz45l3d0rzsurn2ye Lorenzo Miniero I got a medal just for staying alive #sanfranciscomarathon #5k
