I guess if you're using something niche or specialized, you might still be having problems today. But for most people, I believe Wayland works well. I haven't heard of general end users running into issues in a long time. Perhaps there are a few minor things if you check the logs, but nothing visually significant that most people would notice unless they were perfectionists.
The whole point of Waylaynd is not to be bloated, as Xorg became, and have the apps themselves support themselves.

Wayland is the bandage that needed to be ripped off.
Xorg's development was slowing to a crawl. Many of its had retired, and those who remained had started helping with Wayland. Wayland itself had already been around for decades, but over the last 10 years people were being told to migrate, yet many dragged their feet.
If the mainstream distros had not finally said "enough is enough," many developers would still be making excuses for why they were not yet working on Wayland.

Motorola has a security contract with the USA.
They will, depending on need, release a device with GrapheneOS — or delay it — and work closely with you to identify the methods and vulnerabilities you discover, as well as how you implement features to overcome the planned “new normal,” so that, behind the scenes, they can undermine and circumvent your work in the future. The investment — which includes you — is intended to strengthen relations and acquire additional contracts. 😭

It's the goal.
For example, all those new laws for age verification are to prevent you from using an operating system or ROM that cannot be minored or controlled. Blocking reCAPTCHA on a non-approved, non-certified government and corporate sanctioned devices is just 1 piece of the big picture.
For example, the USA has made any new router not made in the USA illegal to import or sell. They can apply for an exception if they agree to include their new control chip or firmware.

Another reason to switch to Vivaldi web browser.
They are the last mainstream web browser without AI.

Proton is under U.S. jurisdiction.
Proof?
Read their TOS (Terms of Service). It starts by claiming it is governed under the laws of Switzerland — and this is true — but it also continues by citing U.S. laws, regulations, and jurisdiction.
They don’t list any other countries they do business with in their TOS — not in Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, North America, or Australia. Only Switzerland and the USA.

A little entertainment for my followers.
A few trolls started to chime in because I pointed out their "friend" was a scammer elsewhere.
The usually trolling begins, but at some point they start to think I am a bot. They even debate each other about it.
It is a amusing (or at least I think so).

No one is saying you should always be using the latest bleeding-edge software.
But if you can’t keep your community updated at least twice (2x) a year — when people are depending on you — you really shouldn’t be running a Fedi site.

A good reminder that Mastodon.sdf.org is still using Mastodon 4.1.25
That is the same version Mastodon.cloud was using.
They really should upgrade soon.

Mastodon Dot Cloud is going to be that future story of how not to run a Fediverse site.

> " We're going to the moon! "
Proceeds to show no close up video of the moon. Broadcast only a 3D visual of what it may look like.
I understand, we will not see the back of the moon, but at least show me a close up before and after.
Seriously disappointed about the coverage concerning NASA’s Artemis II.

I would avoid Proton since they're in the USA, but overall, I would agree with your message.

Wine 11 is impressive.
WoW64 is finally complete. With it, it not only supports 64-bit and 32-bit apps, but even classic 16-bit applications as well.
The performance boost hype is very real.
One of the things everyone disliked about Wine was that it felt like a workaround that made apps run slowly. You can now game using Wine, and it feels much closer to using native Windows.
The GUI app visuals still need improvement, but the backend has made a significant leap forward.

Today, I am going to try to get FreeBSD working as a desktop with the Linux under-layer running so I can stream movies.
I have been lead to believe it has improved and this is possible now.
