actually, this might be a smart move on Triodos' part: people already know that extreme heat is bad, bad, bad - but (also) making it an economic issue might get politicians and corporations to finally get of their asses 🤷‍♂️

why the disappointment? What's to be gained by having Mastodon being an enormous, well known platform? Why do we always gravitate towards "bigger = better"?

in this case, I'd say B. Scale feels like a multiplication operation and 1x is just same same 🤷‍♂️

I'm afraid this is exactly the kind of technomancer shenanigans that makes me (and I think many others) hesitant to switch to Linux... 🤔

if it had been the adult film industry that influenced it, it would've been 69 minutes. Obviously 😄

thanks for sharing! "The tech industry's allegiance is to surveillance capitalism, to profit and power, not to knowledge and certainly not to people." is such a sharp observation.

oh it's just Wordpress with the customizr (free) template. Nothing fancy. I might convert it to a static site once I figure that out 😆

In 2006 my dad died. Seems like a long time ago but still feels quite recent. He made art (even though he never called himself an artist). He really inspired me, so I made a small website to show his work (made it years ago actually, but when I wanted to move it to my current webhosting service it ended up on the teetering pile of to-do's).
Website's in Dutch but pictures are universal 😉 Anyway, feel free to take a look: https://www.wimvanlaatum.nl
