You can’t have a functioning society without trust. Most of the problems we’re having today are due to our high-trust society breaking down after perhaps 1,000+ years.
I don’t think you can remove the need for trust. It’s not even feasible for any one person to know how to make “I, pencil”, let alone for everyone to verify how their cars or hardware wallets work.
A much lower bar is for us to be able to trust that our community leaders - most of whom are independently wealthy - wouldn’t be shilling a product for years without ponying up for some basic due diligence.

Then Saif shows up looking like this, and literally says: “well that sucks about the ColdCard. Anyway I spent the last few hours studying this, and here’s the next thing I am suggesting.”
Nigga, you spent years shilling ColdCard. You should be wearing all black like at a funeral and crying and begging for forgiveness.

I was not lazy you dumb fuck.
I followed all the shit “the experts” told me. The fucking tutorials spent 10 minutes on 9V batteries. Nothing about dice.
If Bitcoin fails it will be because of “experts” like that and shitheads like you.
“Akshually you should have known”
No, no I shouldn’t have. Just like I should not know about every step involved in “I, Pencil”, I shouldn’t know about everything about Bitcoin. I should be able to get good reliable directions.
I’m happy I lost no sats, and I’m happy to be slowly leaving this shit community.

I’d love to hug my loved ones but I have to go toil in the field to pay for food now that magic internet money was stolen.

Yeah the “well duh you should have rolled dice but you were too lazy” is infuriating.
I spent a week moving sats from old software wallets to coldcard. I would have spent an hour rolling dice if their guide advised me to do so. Instead it’s just written in some obscure tweet reply by NVK.

Are you going to ask your straight doctor how to slip your wife antibiotics without her noticing?
Or your crooked pimp friend who must have done this kind of stuff before.
