The cal.com project announced they're going closed source, with the reason stated that open source is risky due to AI vulnerability scanning 🤔
Like with mass firings, I think we'll see other VC-backed "Commercial Open Source" projects use AI as an excuse and opportunity to close their code now that AI is reducing the cost to entry for competitors, and for bypassing licensing or limitations in open core.
The licensing for cal.com was always questionable anyway:

I've been pretty happy with the flow tech upgrade on my SV08, it's nice to be able to change nozzles with a simple spanner again (and even cold-swap them!)

I'm split. I respect there's a need and don't mind the existence of it, but it's a shame for it to be required for involvement and contribution (beyond maintained/use of those specific parts).
I'd advocate for guidance/tooling to allow those parts to be ran under a separate run/flag if reasonably possible (opt-in).
